Boring Week day Matches Vs Interesting Weekend Matches at world Cup

Boring Week day Matches Vs Interesting Weekend Matches at world Cup, perhaps this statement is going to be true till the world cup matches proceed to the knock out stage (Quarter finals). For instance you can see this weekend there were two interestign matches first one Pakistan vs Sri Lanka and Second one India Vs England on Sunday. Both the matches were interesting but as the week started today there were two boring matches played whose summary is as below:

Zimbawe Vs Canada - Another boring match which again raises the quesdtion of associate nations of ICC participating in the tournaments like world cup. Canada was all out at 123 while chasing 299 to win. Interesting Netherlands also made 115 runs.

West Indies Vs Netherlands: I doubt if this was the same team that fought so well against England the other day. Perhaps the team had a bad day today I wish the Netherlands team good luck for next match. I want this team to win atleast one match beffore leaving home from the world cup.

Some boring matches you can catch this weekdays:
Sri Lanka v Kenya : Tomorrow day nigh cricket match. Kenya team once have gain some respect among the opponents but this Kenyan team looks much like other associates. Sri Lanka wont have any problems in this one sided match. Lets see how many records will be broken or created tomorrow.

England v Ireland - 2-March: Another one sided match, Ireland team has a long distance to travel before they canhope of competiting and winning matches against these test playing nations.

March 3 : two matches will be played amongh;
Netherlands v Sth Africa & Canada v Pakistan. Once again pretty one sided games.

March 4: N Zealand v Zimbabwe and Bangladesh v West Indies . These two games can be worl cup turning matches in case Zimbawe or Bangladesh win the matches.

some good matches will be on 5 and 6 march I will post about those later.

World Cup India Vs England Match Live

Well tomorrow Shahid Afridi once again bowled a magic spell and helped Pakistan defeat Sri Lanka. Shohaib Akhar also looked in good form and bowled superbly. Now Pakistan cricket team definitely looks like moving to the quarter finals easily.

Now wheather India will move to the next round i.e quarter finals of the world cup easily will be decided by todays match against England. Any of the the team who will will definitely be making and easy way to the world cup quarter finals.

Match was previously scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens Kolkata but later moved to Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore due to delay in construction workd at Eden Gardens. Now let see if this change of venue will prove lucky to team India or not. For India batting is the strength and it won't really matter if they bat first or bowl first in today match. Batting first they will require to post a total of somewhere aroung 300 and in case they are chasing any score less that 290 will be easily chased by team India.

Catch the live action of the match in 3 hours from now. Till then bye bye.

New Zealand and Ireland lost their matches

New Zealand lost to Australia and Ireland lost to Bangladesh. the only difference is that Ireland being an underdog in the tournament played very well and were on the verge of winning the match before poor batting and problems playing spin took match away from them. New Zealand on the other hand never looked like a test playing nation and now people can belive that this is the team that lost to Bangladesh and India without winning nay match before the world cup. I doubt when will ICC take some action and take away test playing nation cap frm both Bangladesh and New Zealand. Both the teams are not playign to the potential of a team that have won the right to play test matches for ICC.

Another thing common in both the matches played was both were low scoring matches only 200+ runs was the target. Let see what will happen in an exciting match tomorrow between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Another century at worlc cup - AB de Villiers Century Maker

Every day there is a century scored in this world cup so I can say this is going to be a world cup of centuries. Majority of the matches have been high scoring excluding few like one between Kenya and New Zelaand alongwith tooday's match between South Africa and West Indies.

Snce I am supporting West Indies as winners of this world cup, I will take some positve from this match as they were in command in patches for this match. Lets hope they will improvise in the matches to come and move on to the querter finals easily.

One of the surprise element of this match was a spinner openign the bowling for West Indies, remember this was the team who once have 5 fast bowlers feared by batsmen all over the world.

For tomorrow there are 2 matches one is between minnows and second between title contenders. So tomorrow catch the live soce of matches below at ICC Cricket blog:

  1. Australia v N Zealand

  2. Bangladesh v Ireland

Australia and New Zealand are arch rivals and it will be interesting how New Zealand will fight against Aussies. regarding the seond match it will be interesting to see how Ireland team will play and what level of cricket do they play as it is the first match of the Ireland team. Thus both matches are worth watching.

Pictures from the match:

Pakistan Steady despite early wickets

Today it was a different team in the ground. Yes I am talking about Kenya crciket team who take on Pakistan in their second match of the world cup. Pakistan won the toss today and elected to bat first. Unlike their previous match Kenyan bowlers bowled superb openign spells and Pakistan lost two early wickets in first 10 overs with score less than 40 runs.

Now the middle order batsmen Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal are batting and both are building the partnership well. They have managed to stablize the Pakistan innigns now. Scoreboard now reads Pakistan 65 for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs.

Now it'd be interesting to see how game proceed from here. In case Pakistan manage to build some partnerships game will turn their way and in case Kenya keep on bowling the way they are, they can create the first upset win of the worlc cup 2011.

World Cup Updates - Match Reviews and Forecasts

All of us who have watched today's world cup match between Netherlands and England would definitely say that it was most interesting match of the world cup 2011 so far. Also many will not forget to praise for the the Netherlands team, who gave a tight fight to England team.

So for this was the best performance from the underdogs in the tournament. Especially brilliant performance from Ryan ten Doeschate from Netherland who not only scored a century but also took 2 wickets giving just 47 runs. ten Doeschate was also awarded Man of the Match, which he definitely deserved today. I am sure this Netherlands team will give tough time for other teams in the group too.

Coming on to tomorrows match between Pakistan and Kenya. Kenya who lost their first match badly to New Zealand will be looking to forget the nightmare performances that day but I don't expect much from the Kenyan team and all I want is to wish them good luck and hope that tomorrows match will not be one sided match.

Excitement begins day after tomorrow when South Africa will take on two time champions West Indies. Will write about that match later.

Below are wallpapers of Ryan ten Doeschate man of the match for today:

New Zealand won by 10 wickets

This is what you call a completely one sided match. Right from the first ball of the tha match till the last, Kenya never looked really in the match and New Zealand won the match with 10 wickets and more than 40 overs yet to be bowled. Remember this is the Zew Zealand team that completeley lost their recently one day series to India and Balgaldesh. At that time there were doubts of if New Zealand team will qualify for the next round of the tournament. Perhaps this vistory will boost the teams confidence and make there way for the world cup success they have yet to achieve.

Below are the statements of both the captain in the post match presentations:

Vettori: "Wicket had a bit of variable bounce, which our seamers exploited. some big games coming up, good to start like this. With Mills coming back, there might be some changes for the next game. Nathan has done brilliantly as well for us."

Kamande: "Don;t think it was the wicket. It was the areas NZ bowled. We got to be more positive in whatever we do. NZ came very hard at us. We have to learn from this performance today. There are some more games coming up for us."

In just two hours from now the thirs match of the world cup will begin between Sri Lanka and Canada once again between one world cup favorites and a minnow team.

Oneintersting fact here is that the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium hasn't hosted any international match yet so the pitch condition are complete unknow to both the host and the Canadian team. Though it wil be a hard task for the Canadian team to beat Sri Lanka yet we need not to forget that the Canadian team consists of immigrants from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistasn and Banlgladesh thus this team can be considered to give some tough moments to Sri Lanka in the match.

Kenya all out for 69

In the second match opf the world cup 2011 New Zealand bowlers blowed superbly and bowled Kenya team to a mere 69 runs in 23.5 overs. While the opening match was a high scoring match this is goin to be the lowest scoring mach so far in the world cup history. Unlike Bangladesh, Kenya won the toss and elected to bat first, however this decision proved to be a night mare as none of the batsmen in the Kenya team batted well and only 4 players managed to get to the two figures mark and none of them crossed score of 20.

Now we have to see if New Zealand will win this match by 10 wickets or will they loose som wickets also. In the yesteday match India defeated Bangladesh by 87 runs. Virendar Sehwag was elected man to the match for his score on 17o runs.

Another match will be played lated in the afternoon today between Sri Lanka v Canada . Given the results of first two matches I will say the minnows will hardly make any impact and Sri Lankans will have the upper edge in the match. Catch all the live scores and updates od the match at http://icccricket.blogspot.com/.

India out to a flying start loosing 2 wickets

Well India got to to flying start scoring 60+ runs in first 10 overs but they way Sachin Tendulkar got run out, you will definitely doubt if this is a team prepared for the world cup. As far Balngladesh bowling is concerned they are hardly causing any problems for batsmen as Indian batsmen are freely scoring runs.

Currently with scoreboard reading India 186/2 in 29 overs. Sehwag is one the verge of scoring first century of the world cup 2011 he is playing on 2011. The way he is playing he is gonna achieve this.

Perhaps India will achieve a score somewhere around 340.

World Cup 2011 is on

Now its just matter of 2 hours and first match of the 2011 cricket world cup will begin between two of the co-hosts India and Bangladesh. Media and many crciekting experts are considering India and the favorites for this world cup but I doubt if they will witn this wolrd cup. But as far as todays match is concerned defintiely India team is stronger than the the Bangladesh cricket team and definitely India will be goin to win this match.

But more important thing will be how they are going to win this match in case Indian team struggle to win easily then this world definitely is not be an easy ride for them. For Bangladesh team it is a journey for rising the team is slowly improving and hopefully one day they will rist to the status other Asian countries but world cup is not for them in near future, it may take centuries givend the fact that countries like South Africa, England are still to taste the world cup victory.

Watch all the live action of todays openign match of the world cup I'll keep you updated about anything and everytihng worth sharing.

Thanks and enjot the match....

World Cup Warm up Matches Scoreboards Today

Well slowly and slowly team are arriving in the Indian sub-continent and also taking part in warm up matches. Minnows are specially taking part in warm up matches to make them selves accustom to the pitches and playing condition here. So far 6 warm up matches have been played and there weren’t any surprise results from the warm up matches.

Perhaps the reason behind this may be that the warm up matches so far are played between minnows like Canada, Ireland, Afghanistan, Netherlands and Kenya. So far from the warm up matches I can see the Zimbabwe team is going on a good track and this team can definitely cause some setbacks to the favorites in the world cup.

Below are the results of warm up matches played so far:

Kenya 289/4 v Afghanistan 240 (43 ov)
Kenya won by 49 runs
Netherlands 151 v Canada 152/6 (39.4 ov)
Canada won by 4 wickets (with 62 balls remaining)
Ireland 204 v Zimbabwe 208/4 (43.5 ov)

Match 11 ICC World Cup - India vs England

Another Sunday encounter for team 11, this match will definitely be one turning highest crowd in the group stage matches. India will take on England in the group stage on 27th Feb in a day night match. Match will begin at 2:00 pm local time (+5:30 GMT).

No matter England has won the Ashes test series but for me England is a team capable of performing against Australia and Ashes only. In one day format team lacks the discipline in both batting and bowling. Specially when you check bowling in the sub-continent team definitely require someone in the spin bowling capable to turning matches. India team on the other hand have already 3 regular spin bowlers in the 15 members squad and they have other part times like Yuvraj, Raina, Sehwag etc who can bowl couple of good overs and hence India team can have the option of playing one extra batsmen if needed.

In this match Indian team definitely looks strong and capable of winning the match. Let the match begin and catch all the live action.

Bryan Adams in World Cup opening ceremony

The opening ceremony of ICC world cup will be on Few 17th and biggest cricketing event that happens once in 4 years will become bigger this time by the presence of current pop icon Bryan Adams for the opening ceremony. Bran Adams is touring India during the world cup and will perform at the opening ceremony in Bangladesh. This thing has been confirmed by Universal Music India also.

Though nothing much was revealed about Adams performance but he is expected to play 3 songs with his crew.

Sreesanth replaces Praveen Kumar in World Cup squad

Indian selectors played a gamble by selecting pace bowler Praveen Kumar in the world cup squad. However the gamble didn’t turn up well and the bowler has been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup with just 10 days left for the tournament to begin. He is now replaced by S. Sreesanth.

This is a golden chance for Sreesanth which came from nowhere, perhaps this can make him perform 200% now. But I am still in doubt if he will make his way in the playing 11 in the knock out matches if he fails to do extraordinarily well in the group stages.

"Honestly speaking, I play with a lot of passion and people misunderstand my passion for aggression. I will play with passion and try to win for my country," he told CNN-IBN channel on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka v Pakistan World Cup Match Live

This is definitely one of the most exciting matches of the group stage in the world cup 2011. Sri Lanka and Pakistan, both one time champions taking each other in the group stage of 2011 world cup. Both the team have good combination of spin and pace bowlin atttack and some very good batsmen in the world. This match between the two team will be goin to be a high scorig match.

As this is going to be a day nigh t match I guess toss may play a littly role guessgin the due factor which can make fielding and bowling little difficult under lights.

You can catch all the live action of the match here at the ICC Cricket Blog. Thanks was visitng and enjot the world cup :)

India vs. England not in Eden Gardesn but Bangalore

India vs. England, arguably the biggest match in the first round of the World Cup, has been shunted to Bangalore from Kolkata, a venue switch suggested by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and approved by the International Cricket Council Monday.

“Some people in Kolkata will miss out, but it’s good for Bangalore,” said Rajeev Shukla, spokesman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Not really words to warm the hearts of folks in Kolkata.

And what about the thousands of fans from outside Kolkata (among them, yours truly) who had bought tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime cricketing experience-India vs. England at Eden Gardens, supposedly one of the most magical venues in world cricket?

These fans, who have demonstrated far greater planning and organizational skills than the Kolkata cricket authorities, will have to cancel flights and hotels and assess whether it’s worth making the trip to Bangalore instead. They can rebook tickets online or get in touch with the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Mr. Shukla said.

“Logistics are being worked out,” he said, before firing a warning; “Yes, there will be some problems.”

Hoteliers in Kolkata will also be miffed at losing out on bookings for one of their biggest weekends, and it looks like they will have to look beyond the BCCI for compensation.

“We don’t cover the tourist side of things,” Mr. Shukla said.

At least Bangalore’s 60,000-seater Chinnaswamy Stadium is ready, and an ICC-approved venue, so there are unlikely to be any further setbacks for supporters who rearrange their plans.

Meanwhile, Eden Gardens is in a race to prepare for the three matches it is still set to host – Ireland vs. South Africa on March 15, Ireland vs. Netherlands on March 18 and Kenya vs. Zimbabwe on March 20. The ICC is scheduled to inspect the stadium again on Feb. 7 to assess whether Eden Gardens has pulled itself together and is ready for these lower profile group games.
