T20 World Cup Matches Today

In the ICC World Twenty 20 tournament the Super 8 stages have make the series live and more interesting than the dull group stage, that failed  to bring any excitement in the matches. In the Super eights stage of the T20 world cup 2012, all the match has been exciting and very close except the exception of the match played between India and Australia yesterday. India got out to a good start but once wickets fell, they were restricted to a small total of 140 which the 5 specialist bowlers they played were unable to defend. Australian easily achieved the target in the 15th over. Perhaps keeping Virendar Sehwag out of the playing eleven cost the match to team India.

 T20 World Cup Matches Today
Two matches will be played today in ICC World T20 . Here is the detail of the matches:
  1.  England v New Zealand at Pallekele from 3:30 local (+5:30 GMT) onwards
  2. Sri Lanka v West Indies at Pallekele  from 7:30 local (+5:30 GMT) onwards
West Indies and Sri Lanka have won their previous matches in the Super Eights, thus the winning team from the two today will increase their chances of making it to semi finals. However the real knock out punch would be in the match between England and New Zealand. For the  team loosing in the match it would be virtually end of T20 dream unless some strange calculations comes into play for make the team eligible for the next round.

Both England and New Zealand teams may need to pick the playing combination carefully. Opening batting has been a headache for England with not a single two digit opening partnership so far from the team.New Zealand team on the other hand have lost the match from close margins, they have let victory slip from theirf hands, thus a couple of changes might bring the good luck to the team.

If we consider the second match to be played today between Sri Lanka and West Indies, both the teams  seems to continue with the winning combinations. Let see how both the matches progress and what would the points table look like at end of day today.
