India Vs Australia Second T20 Match

Australian team after long marked the debut of a player as a captain. And what a fantastic debut match as a captain you have by defeating a team that won the first T20 world cup and also who hosts the T20 extravaganza tournament called IPL every year.

Australia won the first T20 world cup easily given some very explosive batting display by the top order and then bowlers did a great job defending the score of 171 runs. Man of the match for the first T20 match played yesterday MS Wade scored quick 72 runs out of 43 balls that include 5 boundaries and 3 sixes. Captain GJ Bailey for Aussie has a great day as captain and he utilized his resources very well.

For Indian it seems nothing is going to be fine overseas, they criticized experienced players and poor fielding in tests but the young legs of the team Indian in twenty twenty matches also failed to change the fortunes of team India. And I bet in case the team coach, captain and other people responsible for the selection on the playing eleven ; if plan to switch to wait and watch strategy as in test matches then Indian is going to loose the T20 series 2-0 as well.

Personally I feel India need to include experienced player like Irfan Pathan in place of Vinay or Parveen Kumar. Bowling of both these is looking ordinary. A losing team can’t afford to play with the same combination but team India has different opinions and I am not sure when we will see new faces in the Tests, ODIS and the T20’s. For me it’d be a nice approach if you can restrict the amount of same players playing in the entire formats to 30%. This way you can have more on bench talent in the team and in case of replacements because of injuries; out of form or players opt to be rested. A player performing well in T20s can easily be asked to get into the ODI matches and someone doing well in OIDS can be selected for test matches.

Test Whitewash: Though Indian batsmen have failed individually and as a unit to perform wll in the test series, they still got a chance to impress the fans, media and the selectors by playing well in the two T20 (Twenty twenty matches) against Australia. Please don’t forget that the T20’s will be followed by ODI tri –series that will include Sri Lanka as a third team.

The T20 Mode: The first T20 match between both the teams will be played tomorrow at Sydney. If we take a look at the team Aussies are strong on confidence after defeating India 4-0 whereas Indian team looks nowhere to the International standards. But in shorter forms of the game Indian cricket team can be lethal thus we can hope for a better performance from Indian players.

Indian and Australia T20 Teams: For Australia 40 years old brad hogg makes a comeback in T20 team after nearly 4 years. This comeback has been results of his strong performance in the Australian IPL i.e. Big Bash League. Fast bowler James Faulkner may mark his T20 debut if selected in playing eleven. India will play second test match of the 4 match Gavaskar Border test series (also called Boxing Day test series) tomorrow at SCG (Sydney cricket ground). India have won the test series against West Indies by wining the second test match and Eden gardens Kolkata. However for both the teams it is a right opportunity to improve the performance levels and go to test series with a positive frame of mind.

Specially West Indies need a draw or win in the third and the final test match that begins 22-Nov at Mumbai. We can hope to see a completely different West Indies team in the ODI series with players like K. Pollard joining the team. Yes I must mention that India will not play Yuvraj Singh in the final test match. Thus a setback for Yuvraj who wants to establish himself as a test cricketer. Perhaps he can focus on domestive test cricket for some time. He is a wonderful player for shorter version and theres no doubt about it.

I thought the first test match between Sri Lanks and Pakistan was going to be dull one after Sri Lank got our to a low total and Pakistan declared first innings at the score of 511 thus taking a first innings lead of more than 300 runs.

I thought it would be same display of batting from the Sri Lankan batsmen and they will loss the match most probablt on the first session of day 5. However Kumar Sangakkara score a century and he sill still not out at 161.

With Sri Lankan scoreboard telling 298/5 at Stumps day 4 and Sri Lanka trail by 16 runs with 5 wickets remaining. Now all Sri Lanka need is to bat more sensibly for around 2 sessions tomorrow. However the strength of Pakistan is the bowling despite dropped catches (5 today), poor umpiring they can create wickets anytime for the side.

England team arrived in India and this team is now the number 1 ranked in ICC test rankings also the team is on a high as they have not let India win a single game in last series in England. Indian team was humiliated like its not a test playing team but a contracted nation of ICC.

England defeated India 4-0 in test, won the only T20 match in which we saw the debut and retirement of Rahul Dravid fr4om the T20s. Also they won the 5 match ODI series 3-0. Now the challenge for England to win the series here in India as well and if they manage to do so then in no doubt they will remain in the top of ICC rankings no matter how many matches they play.

For Indian cricket team there is no need to worry as they already had the excuse to unfit players and one statement for MS Dhoni in post match ceremony that we are playing without key players and its difficult to win matches under such circumstances.

In my last post about retirement of Rahul Dravid from One day international cricket matches, it felt like that I'll have to wait for a long time to watch him play cricket as team India next test match series yet have few months to go. Perhaps he will be available for the India Vs Australia matches in December.

Since Dravid is not a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore this years other wise we can have him watch playing in Champions League Twenty20 series that began today. However I am sure he will be available for another season of IPL at least.

Today in Champions League Twenty20 qualifiers two matched were played i.e.:

Auckland v Kolkata Knight Riders - KKR pulled out a win by just 2 runs defending a small total of 121 runs. Perhaps it was hard luck of Auckland who were once looking as they were win the match bu huge margin and thus can get big net run rate advantage. But few runo outs and inability to play slower bowlers well turned the match in KKR's favor.
Ruhuna v Trinidad & Tobago - T&T wun the match against Sri Lanka's team Ruhuna by 5 wickets. Trinidad & Tobago had a good Champions League Twenty20 season last time also and it seems they will do well this time as well. May be some players from this team will play in IPL next year as well.

Now coming to Australia vs Sri Lanka test match the match seems to be headed towards a draw. Australia lead by 52 runs with 7 wickets remaining at stumps on day 4 thus only one days play left we can expect an early close of the match if both captain agree.

The Wall Rahul Dravid - ODI cricket career highlights

The current tour of India cricket team was a night mare for team India but one man showed all the youngsters and experienced cricketer all over the world that class players like him performs in any format of the game and in any conditions.

England where are all the Indian batsmen failed to stand against the short pitch and swinging deliveries of England fast bowlers, it was Rahul Dravid who not only scored multiple centuries in the 4 test matches despite being given the burden (I'll not say it role as he is not a opener batsmen) of opening in the test matches. I bet if only one to two other batsmen in the Indian team have batted like Rahul Dravid in the test series India must have managed to draw at least 2 test matches of the four they lost.

It was Rahul Dravid's performance in the test match series that they selectors of the team India were forced to call Dravid back to the ODI team and also make him debut in the T20 match. Dravid has been recalled in the one day team in the past also when India team travels outside to swinging and bowler friendly conditions.

Thus after the recall Dravid announced his retirement he played one and only T20 match and scored three consecutive sixes, that was a delight to watch and Dravid is not known for hard hitting but as I said class players performs in every format and every situation.

In his last ODI series we cant enjoy full batting of Dravid in earlier matches due to rains and he was unable to capitalize the starts in some however in his last ODI appearance Dravis made stunning 69 of 79 and made a100+ runs partnership with Virta Kohli that helped India reach 302 runs score. However bad luck of team India continued and India lost that match as well.

No matter what fans and critics say about Rahul Dravid the fact is that he has played very important role in buiding team India. The face of team India has been different without his contribution.

For the first time since team India landed in England it looked like they gave a team performance and team India was in a strong position in the match at the time rain abandoned the match resulting both teams will head to the second one day international match 0-0.

Debutant Rehane played a nice knock of 40 runs and this guy may be part of the dressing room for a long time. Parthiv Patel may not be a regular members of the Indian cricket team now a days but if you look at his performance in the last couple of series in which he has played around 11 matches this once wicket keeper batsmen for team India has played 4 50+ inning and a couple of 30 and 40+ innings all in the opening slot. Perhaps he is a good alternate in case M. S. Dhoni got injured or ruled out of the team due to poor performances. Pakistan Vs Zimbawe Test Match Day 3 - This is the only test match to be played between two teams and Zimbawe is once again on the track to improve their cricket. So far result for this match seems to be impossible untill we see some magical spell by Zimbabwe bowlers. Even a drwa would be satisfactory for Zimbabwe.
India Vs England Frist ODI - India lost test series 4-0, they also lost only Twenty twenty match and now they have to play the five match one day series. If India get defeated here then this means the bad phase on Indian cricket has begun. Yes both Zimbabwe and Australia and leading the 5 ODI series by 2-0 against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka respectively. The only difference in that Zimbabwe is leading the series in the home, whereas Australia is touring Sri Lanka.

If we look at Australia and Sri Lanka series, Sri Lanka batter first in both the matches and was unable to score a high score and all the team got out cheaply, thus Australian cricket team didn't have any problem chasing the small totals.

On the other hand Zimbabwe has two easy wins thanks for some very good bowling from Brian Vitori who is so far having a dream first series with 10 wickets in his first 2 ODIs.

Forget about team India winning the test this test match India is on the verge trailing series by 2-0. England has already taken 374 runs lead on day third and its most likely that they will add another 100 or 150 runs before declaring the inning. And at any cost a target of 500 or 450 will be difficult for India to achieve.

Indian batting line is already depleted and they need to bat 2 full days to save the test which is highly unlikely to happen. Indian batting opening is very weak right from the tour of West Indies and it would be very much if you can expect a 50 runs opening partnership and I bet if that happen tomorrow then definitely Indian can draw the test match.

Now once again debate of India being the number one test team and England claiming to be the number test team will become hot. But one must not forget that Indian team is already playing without leading fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and also missing regular openers Virendar Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. I wonder if they all made to the this test match India will have a good chance to make a comeback in the series but also they need to save this match at any cost to keep the numero uno position safe.

Dravid and VVS Laxman gave India a good start after first ball dismissal of openor Abhimanyu Mukund. Together they both build the partnership of 93 runs, before Laxman got out after scoring 54 runs. It seemed like India can take advantage of the situation but Sachin Tendulkar fell right after lunch, in a situation India still trailing by 100 runs.

Dravid is still looking good and it all depends upon him and the fellow batsmen Raina, Yuvraj and Dhoni to bat well and take some substantial first inning lead even if they have to play some risky shots.

There are still 53 overs left for today but the way Indian team is batting its hard to say if they can take any lead all Indian fans can pray is that they don't loose lots of wickets.

India tour of England - Can India make a comeback in Second test

India got to a good start on the first day of the second test match however Indian bowlers took quiet longer time to get rid of tail of England batting. Thus a quick half century from Broad who was the top scorer for England sailed England to a respectable and sufficient total of 221 runs.

Had Indian bowlers handled the tail tactfully the score of the English team would have been much lower as at one point of time the scoreboard read Englang 85/6.

India got the terrible start with the only specialist test opener A. Mukund got out in the first ball of the innings. However both Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman rescued India for the remaining overs of the day and India end up with a score of 24/1 on day first. Trouble for India is that there batting line has been meshed up with both regular openers Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir not availalbe for the second test due to injuries. In the absence of the regular openers Indian batting line now is total mesh with Rahul Dravid opening the innings and if you see the stats he is the highest run getter at number 3. Same goes for VVS Laxman the number 6 specialist batsmen in made to bat at number 3 still we can expect good batting from Laxman, he is a class player.

India has also included Yuvraj Singh, the world cup hero in this test and we have to see if he can replicate the world cup magic in the test matches in England as well.

With every game Sachin Tendulkar plays a couple of records are broken or a new record is made. Now as he is back to the Indian cricket team and will play in the Test series against England. All eyes are again on Sachin to see if he will complete his 100th century in cricket in this series or not. Day 4, Third Test Match - India vs West Indies

Though rain ruined the the play for almost 1.5 days, the third test match stil looks moving towards a dicisive end. and in case there is no result for this match then definitely it would be an interesting draw. I how rain will not play spoilsport here. At stumps on day three India have took lead of 104 runs. India still have 4 wickets in hand and captain M S Dhoni is batting alongwith Harbhajan Singh.

India would like to bat for two session on day 4 however for West Indies target would be to restrict India as quick as possible and dont get the lead past 200. In case Indian team takes a lead of more than 200 runs Match will be over for West Indies no matter how many sessions are left for them to play. Under that cirsumstances they can only play ofr a draw and for which they have to bat also one and half day ( a troublesome task).

Even if West Indies manage to restric team India early within a lead of 150 runs then also they have to bat really really well and at least few good partnership, in case they can manage to loose less than 5 wickets today they will be in a position to take the match to draw. Winning from here for West Indies look one in a million chance.

However cricket is a game of uncertainities anything can happen in this game. Just wait and watch the live 4th day score of the match to see where game progresses from here now on.

Third and the final test of the three match test series between India and West Indies will be played tomorrow. And Its pretty much sure that West Indies will get on the field to level the series 1-1 and repeat what they managed to achieved in the last series against West Indies few week back.

If West Indies can manage to win the last test match then it'd definitely be an achievement to draw a series against the number one team in the world. For India it can be another chance to win the series by 2-0 and earn more points to strengthen there position in the points table. Also if India win the series they can go to England with a positive node.

Today is the fourth day of the first test match between India and West Indies and 90% chances are there that results of the match will be concluded today. Match can go in the favor of any team from here now on, but its for sure that match will not go into the 5th day of play.

Today West Indies need another 196 odd runs to win the match with 7 wickets in hand and the team will mostly rely on S. Chanderpaul, if he manages to play a big score chances are there West Indies will win the match. West Indies bowled out India on the first day of first test match at the score of 246 and in return India managed to restrict West Indies at 173 taking first innings lead of 173 runs. Now today is the third and the most important day of the test match. Though Indian team looks is a little comfortable situation with a lead of 164 runs still there is lot of cricket left to be played in the match.

In case West Indies bowler restrict India cheaply they will have plenty of time to chase the total. India on the other hand need to bat well till the lunch session tomorrow if they want to fancy their chances of winning the first test match.

So called inexperienced Indian team started well by winning the only T20 match and then first three matches of the 5 Match ODI series, but they lost the remaining two matches of the series and thus it cost one point to the ODI rankings as well.

India currently ranks second in the ICC one day international team rankings and this ranking can be further pushed down to number three if Sri Lanka manages to win the ODI series against England. Both Sri Lanka and England are ranked below India in the ODI team rankings of ICC.

The three test match series starts from 20th June at Kingston. India is the number one test team but this time like ODI team test team is also little inexperienced. West Indies on the other hand managed to draw the test series against Pakistan and they have won last two ODI against India as well.

It'd be interesting to see the competition between both the team. Will bring you all the live action of the first test match between both the team from Kingston, West Indies.

As I predicted in my last post , West Indies team played excellent cricket just to save their pride. West Indies won the match with more than 100 runs, a match where they have nothing to loose.

Even today they face the similar position, with nothing to loose and the fact that if they win this match they can get ready for the test matches in a positive frame of mind. For team India it was only the failure of the middle order that cost them the match as nothing can be expected from the current top order, they have failed ot give a positive start in all the matches so far.

As far as Chris Gayle playing for West Indies is concerned, 85% posibilty is that Chris Gayle cricket career for West Indies is over, though he can play in domestic T20 matched of various countries like Andrew Simmonds is doing.

Lots of improvement areas for both the teams. Though Indian team managed to win the T20 match and the first ODI, the team top order (opening batsmen specially) failed on both the occasion. It was depth in the batting that saved the team along with the bowling. But think of the scenario when West Indies team post a competitive total then a top order disaster will be enough for the defeat.

West Indies team is bowling well but they need to learn the art of playing spin and for that they need specialist like Chris Gayle and Pollard to strengthen the batting line up.

Indian team has arrived to compete West Indies in T20 and one day matches with a new coach and New captain. Duncan Fletcher is the new coach of Indian cricket team who took the charge after Gary Kristen resigned immediately following the Indian team world cup win whereas Suresh Raina who has been part of the Indian cricket team from some time is the new captain. Raina has been in and out of the team and almost a surprise for me to see him as a captain.

The first choice was Gautam Gambhir but he had been forced to take his name out of the tournament due the shoulder injury he received during the IPL matches. It'd be interesting to see if team India can win the T20 and one day series as most of the player are not the ones who have been playing for team India from long time. Many seniors players have either rested from the tournaments or are out due to the injuries.

The first T20 match will begin withing 2 hours time from now and it'd be interesting to see who will be in the playing 11 for both the teams.

Today Mumbai Indians and Kolkta Knight Riders will play each other for the semi final match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Yesterday Chennai Super Kings beat RCB in a thrilling T20 encounter and secure its place in the Finals of the IPL 4. Please note that this is the 3 time in the last 4 IPL seasons that Chennai have reached the finals of the IPL. Though they managed to win onlt one finals, still the team looks better this time and their strength lies in the batting in the death overs.

Coming to the eliminator match today, though Mumbai won the previous encounter they were rarely in the top of the game since that magical last over changes the fortunes for Mumbai. The strong looking Mumbai batting line up has rarely delivered in last couple of games.

IPL 2011 First Play OFF - Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

After 70 matches and nearly 2 months the 4 more consistent team now make it to the play offs and two from which will make to the finals of the 2011 Twenty twenty IPL to be played on 28 May at Chennai.

If we take a close look at the four team Royal Challengers Bangalore don’t have a good start but once giant hitting Chris Gayle joined the team fortunes changes and they won 8 out of the last 9 games they played. Mumbai Indians team had the dream start they were at the top of points table for almost 3/4 th of the tournament but they slipped in the end loosing 3 games in a row.

On the other hand the remaining two team Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings have been consistent through the IPL 2011.

Now the qualifier match for the final will be played between the top 2 team in the points table i.e. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. Now here Royal Challengers team looks like the one who is going to be the winner not only of this game but also the finals. But on the other hand we have the magic captain Dhoni and one must not forget that Chennai Super Kings are the defending Champions and one of team who have almost same composition as that of last year.

Yesterday Kolkata Knight riders won the match against Pune Warriors and thus took another step towards the play ofs. Today Mumbai will play against Rajasthan Royals. In the last encounter between both the teams Rajasthan won the game and Sachin was critical about the pitch conditions.

Lets see if the Mumbai Indians can win the match in the home conditions, as far as importance of todays game is concerned Rajasthan Royals are already out of the competition for play ofs whereas Mumbai will need only one win from the remaining games better if they can do it today itself.

He captained the Kolkata Knight Riders team for 2 seasons, played for them for three season and the same team didnt picked him for the IPL season 4. Team management wanted Saurav Ganguly to take mentors role but he rather wanted to play.

At last he got to play some matches for Pune team and now he will be playing against the Kolkata team. All everyone want to see here whome will the Kolkata fans will support there team or the star from Kolkata the dada, the Ganguly. Also will Ganguly like Chris Gayle give it back to the KKR team.

The game between Pune Warriors and Kolkata will not cause much difference to the Pune team but Pune's win or loss if veru much important for Kings XI Pinjab and Kolkata Kinght Riders team. KKR needs to win one of the two remaining matches to qualify for the play ofs.

Upset win Keeps Punjab hopes alive

I guess none would have predicted Kings Eleven Punjab winning the T20 IPL match against the team leading the points table i.e Mumbai Indians. A team filled with great batsmen, bowlers and hard hitting all rounders first let Punjab score more than 160 runs and then get all out in less than 90 runs. Now Punjab hopes are still live in the tournaments and if they win all the remaining matches they can get to play the play offs.

In another game played yesterday Pune got the second consecutive win by beating Deccan Chargers by 6 wickets. It was nice to see Ganguly batting once again but its time he should look for other roles in the cricket rather than playing.

Only one match will be played in IPL today between Rajasthan v Bangalore at Jaipur.

Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders Continue Winning....

Yesterday Mumbai & Kolkata won their respective matches against Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings. Delhi rely completely on the captain Virendar Sehwag and moment he fails to bat well team collapses. He had got 2-3 victories for the team single handily but thats not T2o cricket all about. Perhaps Delhi teams management needs to sit down and do the home work for the next IPL season. Don't think I am harsh at Delhi team but frankly speaking they can't do much about IPL 4 and now they have to focus on IPL 5. Team needs some good hitting batsmen and bowler who can take quick wickets.

Mumbai and Kolkata both the teams are now sure of getting ofr the IPL playoffs (next round). Whereas Chennai, Hyderabad and Rajashtan will have to fight hard to get to the next round.

Today two matches will be played i.e.:

Bangalore v Kochi at Bangalore
Punjab v Pune at Mohali

And as I am going to watch the IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Pune Warriors I'll not be able to post any IPL Match updates today. But perhaps I'll be posting wallpapers from the match. IPL Updates: Sehwag Century and Shane Warne Retirement

Yesterday it was hard hitting by two batsmen that saw their respective teams win the matches. Bread Hodge Last over hitting enabled Kochi Tuskers to beat the tournament favorites Kolkata Knight Riders. On the other hand Virendar Sehwag single handly lead Delhi Deardevils to victory against Deccan Chargers. Initially it seemed that Delhi will not be able to chased the target, at one point of time Delhi was 29 for 3 in 6 overs. But Sehwag scored 119 of 56 deliveries and take on the bowling and make sure target was well within the reach.

Shane Warne announced retirement from IPL: Shane Warne announced his retirement as a player from the IPL. This season will be the last time we will see the legendary spinner bowling, batting and fielding in the IPL matches. Is was Shane Warne who lead the Rajasthan team to win the first IPL. He played the dual role of captain and mentor for the team. Couple of stars in the IPL and Indian cricket today were identified and given support by Shane Warne first.

Deccan Chargers is also facing the same condition to qualify for the next round. Deccan team faced the similar conditions in the IPL season two and they emerged as the winners of second IPL. Lets see if they can repeat the same with new captain and new squad. This can be predicted from the todays match against Kolkata Knight Riders. If Deccan team doesn't win the match today then chances of them qualifying the next round will be finished.

Today IPL Matches Live Socres - IPL T20

Two T20 matches to be played today in IPL are:

Mumbai v Punjab at Mumbai
Delhi v Kochi at Delhi

Both Mumbai and Kings XI Punjab had great start to the tournament but lost couple of the previous matches they played. Still both the teams are in comfortable positions, Mumbaihas always been in the top 4 whereas Punjab had played only 6 matches so one or two victories will take them to the top 4 and hence for the next round of the IPL.

Coming to the second match both the team share equal points from equal number of matches, thus they not only need to win this match but also win the match with a good net run rate. I don't see any of the two teams qualifying for the next round until and unless they win all the remaining matches convincingly. Otherwise they will compete only for not getting the bottom position in the points table.

Results from the IPL matches played yesterday: Yesterday both Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings win their respective matches against Pune Warriors and Deccan Chargers.

Mumbai Indians, a team with strong batting line up was restricted to their lowest ever score in IPL by the Sharne Warne lead Rajasthan Royals. Previous lowest score by Mumbai Indians was 116 runs. So far in the tournament Mumbai teams top orders was scoring runs heavily and thus the middle order didn't have the real match practice leading to the disaster today.

Rajashtan needs just 95 runs and seems they will chase the score comfortable if not easily. Just to update you on yesterdays match Delhi team once again failed to chase the score and remain at the bottom of the points table.

Well Deccan Chargers Vs Kochi Tuskers IPL Match played on 27th April 2011 was a stunner. This match will be remembers at least for the players of the Deccan team and Deccan fans for quiet a long time. Deccan Chargers set a target of 130 runs for the Kochi Tuskers and Kochi failed to chase the target getting all out for mere 74 rusn in 16.3 overs. Ishant pulled dream spell of 5 for 12 in 3 overs. Maybe this performance is the one he needed to make a comeback to the Indian cricket team.

Well what a match is is and Deccan Chargers just need one more wicket to win this match. Unlike most of the IPL or twenty twenty matches today's match between Deccan Chargers & Kochi Tuskers remained a low scoring match where bowlers were ahead of the batsmen all the way.

Only the Kumar Sangakara the captain of Deccan Chargers played an outstanding innings of 65 runs in 34 balls which inlude one and only SIX of the match today so far. Can you believe an IPL T20 match with only one six hit. This is something very rare to see in T20 matches.

Yesterday Kings XI Punjab showed a great performance and posted 195 runs as target for Rajasthan Royals team. In the end Rajasthan Royal team managed to score 147 runs only and loosing the game by 48 runs. At one time it was looking that Kings Eleven Punjab will post a total of more than 200 or 225+ but last 5 overs they managed to score some 30 odd runs only, still the target was out of reach for the Rajasthan Royals team lead by Shane Warne.

Today we have 2 matches to be played in IPL. First match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Kolkata and the second one will be played between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at Mumbai.

Kolkata Kinght Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore: This is the first time in IPL history that Kolkata team is looking strong in papers and the fields both, otherwise right from the beginning of the IPL Kolkata team has looked stronger in the papers but ended in the bottom of the points table. This is the first time that team looks to be doing good in points table as well. As far as the todays match is concerned its Royal Challengers team which would be more under pressure to win the match they are already in the bottom 2 of the points table and they need a couple of wins badly to make a comeback in the tournament. Kolkata on the other hand are at the top of points table but they lost the last match to Kochi Tuskers, thus they need to win this match so as to remain in the top of the points table.

Mumbai Indian Vs Pune Warriors IPL Match Live

In yes another interesting IPL encounter, today Pune Warriors won the toss and elected to bat against Mumbai Indians. For Pune warriors it is there first IPL season in which they have done well so far winning 2 out of the three matches played. Mumbai Indians on the other hand is the runner up for the last season and the team looks lethal this time also.

Bowlers of the Mumbai Indian team are bowling superbly and they have taken 9 wickets so far in 17 overs giving away 118 runs. With just one wicket remaining for Pune team I guess any target they set will be easier one for Mumbai Indians to chase.

Minutes after the original post Munaf patel got the wicket of last Pune team batsmen henve the target for Mumbai Indians team is 119 runs. A target under 6 runs an over somethins that can be chased easily in T20 format. However in cricket match is not won till the last bowl is bowled or winning run is scored.

Yes, question arise from the fact that in my previous post titled "World Cup India Vs Ireland Match Live Score Updates" I just posted that I want to see India chase against Ireland and same thing happened today. Indian captain M S Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first. He said he expected the track to be more helpful to bowlers inthe noon than in the evening. I am not sure if this is true but I am sure that Irelands successful chase of 300+ socre against England might have some influence on Dhoni's decision to bowl first.

I doubt when will ICC take some action and take away test playing nation cap frm both Bangladesh and New Zealand. Both the teams are not playign to the potential of a team that have won the right to play test matches for ICC.

Another thing common in both the matches played was both were low scoring matches only 200+ runs was the target. Let see what will happen in an exciting match tomorrow between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Every day there is a century scored in this world cup so I can say this is going to be a world cup of centuries. Majority of the matches have been high scoring excluding few like one between Kenya and New Zelaand alongwith tooday's match between South Africa and West Indies.

Snce I am supporting West Indies as winners of this world cup, I will take some positve from this match as they were in command in patches for this match. Lets hope they will improvise in the matches to come and move on to the querter finals easily.

One of the surprise element of this match was a spinner openign the bowling for West Indies, remember this was the team who once have 5 fast bowlers feared by batsmen all over the world.

Australia and New Zealand are arch rivals and it will be interesting how New Zealand will fight against Aussies. regarding the seond match it will be interesting to see how Ireland team will play and what level of cricket do they play as it is the first match of the Ireland team. Pakistan Steady despite early wickets

Today it was a different team in the ground. Yes I am talking about Kenya crciket team who take on Pakistan in their second match of the world cup. Pakistan won the toss today and elected to bat first. Unlike their previous match Kenyan bowlers bowled superb openign spells and Pakistan lost two early wickets in first 10 overs with score less than 40 runs.

Now the middle order batsmen Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal are batting and both are building the partnership well. They have managed to stablize the Pakistan innigns now. Scoreboard now reads Pakistan 65 for the loss of 2 wickets in 16 overs.

Now it'd be interesting to see how game proceed from here. In case Pakistan manage to build some partnerships game will turn their way and in case Kenya keep on bowling the way they are, they can create the first upset win of the worlc cup 2011.

World Cup Updates - Match Reviews and Forecasts

All of us who have watched today's world cup match between Netherlands and England would definitely say that it was most interesting match of the world cup 2011 so far. Also many will not forget to praise for the the Netherlands team, who gave a tight fight to England team.

So for this was the best performance from the underdogs in the tournament. Especially brilliant performance from Ryan ten Doeschate from Netherland who not only scored a century but also took 2 wickets giving just 47 runs. ten Doeschate was also awarded Man of the Match, which he definitely deserved today. I am sure this Netherlands team will give tough time for other teams in the group too.

Coming on to tomorrows match between Pakistan and Kenya. Kenya who lost their first match badly to New Zealand will be looking to forget the nightmare performances that day but I don't expect much from the Kenyan team and all I want is to wish them good luck and hope that tomorrows match will not be one sided match.

Excitement begins day after tomorrow when South Africa will take on two time champions West Indies. Will write about that match later.

This is what you call a completely one sided match. Right from the first ball of the tha match till the last, Kenya never looked really in the match and New Zealand won the match with 10 wickets and more than 40 overs yet to be bowled. Remember this is the Zew Zealand team that completeley lost their recently one day series to India and Balgaldesh. At that time there were doubts of if New Zealand team will qualify for the next round of the tournament. Perhaps this vistory will boost the teams confidence and make there way for the world cup success they have yet to achieve.

Below are the statements of both the captain in the post match presentations:

Vettori: "Wicket had a bit of variable bounce, which our seamers exploited. some big games coming up, good to start like this. With Mills coming back, there might be some changes for the next game. Nathan has done brilliantly as well for us."

Kamande: "Don;t think it was the wicket. It was the areas NZ bowled. We got to be more positive in whatever we do. NZ came very hard at us. We have to learn from this performance today. There are some more games coming up for us."

In just two hours from now the thirs match of the world cup will begin between Sri Lanka and Canada once again between one world cup favorites and a minnow team.

Oneintersting fact here is that the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium hasn't hosted any international match yet so the pitch condition are complete unknow to both the host and the Canadian team. Though it wil be a hard task for the Canadian team to beat Sri Lanka yet we need not to forget that the Canadian team consists of immigrants from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistasn and Banlgladesh thus this team can be considered to give some tough moments to Sri Lanka in the match.
