The Kolkata Knight Riders have named Mohnish Parmar in their squad The Gujarat off-spinner has been banned by the BCCI for a suspect action and is yet to be cleared by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore where he underwent corrective measures.
"He (Parmar) is still under a rehabilitation process and his progress is being monitored by us," said a source at the NCA. "By no way has he been cleared by us and Gujarat coach Vimal Jadeja has been told to look after how he is doing."
The high-profile Kolkata Knight Riders team, however, on Sunday still named Parmar in their provisional list of 28 players, which would be pruned to 22 or 24 after another camp beginning on Tuesday. "As far as we are concerned, Parmar is following the instructions of the NCA and his progress is being assessed by the appropriate authorities. We are still waiting for the final clearance from them," said John Buchanan, the team's technical head.
