Below is the updated points table for the IPL 2011 T20 championship. This year we have surprises like Kolkatta Knight Riders and Pune Warriors who are currently leading the points table. But still we have plenty of cricket still left in the IPL and we can see more shuffles in the point table before the next round of the tournament begins. The only two teams who look in trouble so far are Delhi Deardevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

IPL Opening Ceremony and First Match - IPL 2011

IPL Twenty Twenty Championship tournament is about to begin in 2 days from now and Saturday April 2011, we will see the opening ceremony and the inaugural match between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkatta Knight Riders. Chennai is the team lead by captain cool M S Dhoni who may not perform like other stars in the team but he is very lucky in taking the decision. Whereas the Kolkatta Knight Riders team has aleways been full with super star cricketers right from the season 1 but still the team has performed badly in all the previous versions of the IPL.

If you look at the squad of the Kolkatta Knight Riders team this time it contains more huge names as compared with the past. Team is captained by Gautam Gambhir and includes big names like Lakshmipathy Balaji, Brad Haddin, Brad Haddin, Eoin Morgan, Eoin Morgan, Jaidev Unadkat, Ryan ten Doeschate, Yusuf Pathan and Bret Lee. Definitely if Kolkata Knight riders win the opening match then I am going to support this team for this season.

IPL 2011 - Indian Premier League Twenty Twenty Matches 2011

Forget the 50 overs game and get ready for T20 format for the IPL 2011. Now its time to see long sixes, boundaries and wickets felling like cards in less than a week time. Though there has been shuffle of teams ans players, I guess it will take a few matches to get familar with all the T20 action. For all the previous seasons of IPL I supported Mumbai Indians but I guess like teams shufflin players I will also shuffle the IPL team I am supporting. IPL T20 final - Sachin Vs Dhoni - Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings

After a long battle for 45 days the day has come the final match. Todays match will decide who will be the winner of IPL3. For Mumbai Indians playing of the captian Sachin Tendulkar is still in doubt. I think perhaps Sachin will not want to miss the final and will play todays match for sure.

Sachin experience is much neede as Mumbai Indians team has neever been in the final of IPL before whereas Chennai has the experience of loosin in the final of IPL1. I wish the experince increse by one more defeat ;) .

IPL Season 3 Final Match - Mumbai Indians Vs Cheaani Super Kings

Well I am nore than happy with Mumbai Indians reahin the final of IPL season three and they will face Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. In the beginning of the tournament I was hoping Mumbai Indian will reach the semi finals at least. But the team did well and not only they becoeme the first team to reach the semi finals but the first one to reach the final of the IPL season three.
Though I am supporting Mumbai Indians from the day IPL started and the team Mumbai Indians came into existence, I fear they will loose the finals to Chennai Super Kings.

I pray Mumbai will be able to take the advantage of home ground and crowd suport to beat Chennai super Kings in the final.

Another pending match of the IPL to decide the team number three and team number four will be betwenn the teams who platyed the FINAL of IPL season 2 yes Deccan Chargers and Royal Challenger Bangalore.

IPL T20 Semi Final - Mumbai Indians Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

Match starts 8 pm today IST, Mumbai wil lhave the home advantage. the Mumbai Indian team have reached the semi finals first time in the history of IPL and they will try to make it to the finals. Mumbai Indian Semi finals IPL T 20

Well Mumbai Indians have become the first team to enter the semi finals of IPL there and this is the first time the Mumbai India. This is the first time they have entered the semi-finals of the IPL. I've predicted the same in the second post I made for IPL and was expecting Mumbai Indian to do well this time.

Kolkata Knight riders vs Kings XI Punjab

Knight riders captain Suarav Ganguly have won the toss decided to bat first. This is the 34th match of IPL 3. Kings XI Punjab are already out of the tournament but they can still prove a spoiler for few of the teams whose hopes for entering the semi finals stage are still alive.

I doubt this match can cost much to Kolkata knight riders ans for kings xi Punjab there is nothing to loose so they will definitely give more to this match.

There are more updates about ICC Twenty Twenty world cup beginning April 30th but I think I will start the coverage of the event after April 20 till then all of the IPL league matches will be over and only 4 matches would be left.

Well Mumbai Indians team rocks, I was expetcing a good show from the team I was suppoting from the day IPL T 20 came into existence (refer: IPL) They have till now lost only match and leading the points table with 12 points no other team has got more than 8 point yet. Now I odnt bother about how the team will perform they have already won my heart.

I am sure the Mumbai Indian team will qualify for the ICC Champions leauge twenty twenty.

Now this is gonna be a definitely a must watch match. Delhi may have a upper hand as they have won three of the four match played between two teams, Delhi is also currently at the top of points table of IPL 2010. But Mumbai has bigger stars inthe team. Battin is backed by Sachin and Jaysurya whereas bowling they have two international bowlers Zaheer Khan and Latish Malinga. They can win a match of their own for Mumbai. Plus point for Delhi is there battin line up both Sehwag and Gambhir are firing in the tournament.

Well both the matches playrd tpoday were great Royal Challengers Bangalore came back strongly in the tournament. After a bad start in the IPL 20 20 RCB today defeated Kings XI Punjab chansing 204 runs. Kolkatka Knight riders got the taste of defeat today friom the hands of Chennari Super Kings.

The match to watch tomorrow is between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Dear devils . I am sure Mumabi Indian will have good IPL results this tme with best batting and bowling line up.

Things are going on like we have seen in the previous two season of IPL. Onvce again Mumbai Indians started with a victory, now I hope they will do well in this season atleast they should reash the semis this time. King XI lost the match but they were close to defend a small total.

IPL begins with a upset win by Kolkata knight riders

Now this wasn't expected, Deccan Chargers loosing to Knight riders. However in thapast also knight riders have good stats to the tournament and then loosing moment all of a sudden. Let see what will they do this time .

Tomorrow is a double dhamaaka at IPL Mumbai taking on Rajasthan followed by Punjab v Delhi in Mohali at 8.00 pm.

Two new IPL franchisee will be announced few hours later and regions that are in contention are laready posted in my previous post. Let see which are our two new IPL teams and interesting to knwo is about who are the owners of the teams along with team logos.

2 more New IPL franchises for IPL 4

IPL season three will begin on March 12 and before that IPL will made public the name of two more new IPL franchises. There are 8 contender for IPL teams i.e.: Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Kanpur, Dharamsala, Indore, Cuttack, Gwalior, Visakapatnam , Rajkot, Pune, Vadodara and Kochi.

From the above Rajkot, Pune, Vadodara and Kochi don't have stadiums currently. Rest all have stadiums and are hosting IPL mathces also. The base price of bidding for franchise is kept US$225 million.

Rajasthan Royals form global alliance - IPL News

London, Feb 8 (IANS) Rajasthan Royals, the inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Monday joined forces with Hampshire, Cape Cobras, Trinidad and a yet-to-be-confirmed Australia state team for a global alliance here at Lord's.


Hampshire will now play as the Hampshire Royals in the Twenty20 Cup next season with Cape Cobras and Trinidad also set to agree to the Royals branding.

The partnership is called Royals2020 and will be a dynamic partnership of leading cricket clubs around the world, with the aim of creating the 'World's First Global Sporting Franchise'.

Shane Warne, captain and head coach of Rajasthan Royals said: 'I am delighted to be a part of this new innovation, and I am excited by what we can achieve, given what we have already achieved. Yet again, the Royals are leading the way. It is bonus that clubs with which I have such deep affection are so involved.'

The Royals2020 mission is to grow the fan base; grow the commercial platform for all; provide high class entertainment for the young and families in great grounds; provide opportunities for players to develop their talents; and to entertain fans around the world through great events.

Manoj Badale, Chairman, and co-founder of the Rajasthan Royals and Royals2020 said: 'This is a major innovation in World Sport, and it represents a great opportunity for the clubs, but also an opportunity for fans and sponsors to be part of something totally unique and exciting. The response that we have had from fans overseas over the past two seasons has convinced us to expand our ambition.'

Sean Morris, Chief Executive Officer of Rajasthan Royals, said that this association will help Royals to be part of a global brand and is a unique one across all sports.

Rod Bransgrove, Chairman of Hampshire said: 'We consider the Rose Bowl to be the home of Twenty20 cricket in the UK, and this is a fabulous opportunity to extend the international reach of the game for us.'

IPL Twenty Twenty opening match at Mumbai

The opening match of IPL season 3 will be played between Deccan Chargers vs Kolkata Knight Riders in Mumbai on March 12. Also auction for two new teams would be held next month. Also though the Kotla pitch has been banned for any international match in 2010, IPL will have the matches held in Delhi.
