Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders play today to keep up the winning mode. Both Royals and Knight Riders have worn their opening matches and the team would be looking forward to keep on the winning mode. Though it would not be nice to make a statement that any team winning the match today will make it to the play offs but yes, win in the match today will surely make their way to play offs little easier.

Brett Lee to replace Akram as bowling coach for KKR

Since the legendary pace bowler Wasim Akram has decided to take a break from his responsibilities as a bowliing consultant of Kolkata Knight Riders team, the Australian fast bowler Brett has been selected by the KKR team management to take up the role. Brett Lee now will play the dual role in the Knight Riders team one as a player, leading the pace attack and second as the bowling coach.

Team management decide to opt out of looking for some from outside as they thought Brett Lee with his vast experience in international cricket is the best fit for the mentors job for this session of IPL.

IPL begins April 3 and Kolkata team will face Delhi DearDevils in the match. I am quiet excited top see how Brett Lee will perform and what impact he will have on the team as a mentor.

Important matches for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings Today

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face the teams who are are the number one and number two position in points table. In the first IPL match to be played today Mumbai Indians will face Kolktata Knight Riders who are placed at second position in points table. Whereas in the second game fifth seeded Chennai Super Kings will fqace Delhi Daredevils who are the numero-uno position in this years IPL points table.

For both the teams  (Chennai and Mumabi) its a must win game though Delhi and Kolkata would want to keep the winning track and not take these games likely. I am not sure if all the visitors of fans of IPL are aware of this fact or not but this is the first time Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders will be facing each other. Though there have been more than 50 games played in IPL, its the first match between two teams.

Lets see how the matches end up today but please note that results of the both matches will be crucial and decide which team will qualify for IPL 2012 play-offs.

First win for Chennai - IPL T20 2011

Well Chennai win the first match of the IPL 2011 and it was anybody's match till the last ball of the match was bowled. but unlike previous IPL seasons KKR the SRK teams looks a strong team and I am sure this time the team will end up in the top one in the points table not the one in the lower numbers as in the past.

IPL Opening Ceremony and First Match - IPL 2011

IPL Twenty Twenty Championship tournament is about to begin in 2 days from now and Saturday April 2011, we will see the opening ceremony and the inaugural match between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkatta Knight Riders. Chennai is the team lead by captain cool M S Dhoni who may not perform like other stars in the team but he is very lucky in taking the decision. Whereas the Kolkatta Knight Riders team has aleways been full with super star cricketers right from the season 1 but still the team has performed badly in all the previous versions of the IPL.

If you look at the squad of the Kolkatta Knight Riders team this time it contains more huge names as compared with the past. Team is captained by Gautam Gambhir and includes big names like Lakshmipathy Balaji, Brad Haddin, Brad Haddin, Eoin Morgan, Eoin Morgan, Jaidev Unadkat, Ryan ten Doeschate, Yusuf Pathan and Bret Lee. Definitely if Kolkata Knight riders win the opening match then I am going to support this team for this season.

IPL Match 1 - Deccan v Kolkata at Mumbai

IPL (Indian Premier League) 2010 fitst match is to be played between Deccan Chargers and Kolkatta Knight Riders. Like previous two IPL seasons this one will also be a great extravagganza of cricket. Deccan Chargers are the winners of the last year IPL twenty twenty trophy and they lok forward to retain the trophy this time also. On the other hand Kolkata Knight Riedrs don't have a very good season last year ans they saw an early exit to the tournament. Now lets see if they will be able to turn the fortuen this time.
