India vs Pakistan World Cup Match Today Live Scoreboard

Indian and Pakistan cricket teams will play their first match for the ICC cricket world cup today. First match of the world cup against an old rival is gonna be high pressure match for both the teams. For the cricket fans all over the world this could be the most exciting match of the world cup at the group stage and overall most exciting match of the tournament second to the finals.

Both the teams have a long history of matches and series that were to heated and high pressure games, however when if comes to world cup Indian cricket team has a very consistence record against the neighbors. So far both teams have played 5 matches in the world cup history and India have won all of them. Last world cup match played between the two teams was the semi final match of 2011 world cup at PCA stadium Mohali. India won that match and they defeated Sri Lanka in the finals later.

However this time its not going to be an easy task for India, most the team members and young and inexperienced. They might not be able to handle the pressure of playing at the high level matches of the world cup. Most of the fans and the critics have already given upon the hopes of India defending the world cup title. First couple of games will be sufficient to decide the fate of Indian cricket team for the world cup. ICC World Cup Match Live Scoreboard Day 1 Match 2

Match Update: 1:17 pm IST: England innings start now with Moeen Ali and Ian Bell as openers. They need to chase a huge score of 342 (343 to win) and a lot will depend upon these two batsmen how close England team can reach to the target or even chase it. So fat the plus point for England were a five for and hat-trick by Steven Finn. But his performance was not that good to restrict the explosive Aussie batting line.  You can watch the live score of the match at the top of this blog. Enjoy!

The opening match for the ICC world cup 2015  just being played between Sri Lanka and New Zealand just few hours back and it features two teams that are perfect for a nice encounter. A perfect opening match for the world cup, fill with lots of excitement. With the match the tournament is open and the second match to be played today is between Australia and England. Match starts in just few moments from now. Both these teams already have enough preparation in the Carlton Mid Tri ODI series, that included India as the third team. Players of both the team are in fine touch and we hope to see both the team through the knock out stage of cricket world cup 2015.

Stay tuned here and we'll publish the toss and score updates from this match.

Match Update: 10:57 am IST: The opening match is almost near a finish and New Zealand is going to win the match against Sri Laka. As far as the second match of the world cup in concerned  I think this is going to be more exciting match as compared to the earlier one. Both Australian and England have recently played in the final of the ODI tri series and team are in good form.

Today morning England won the toss and elected to field. Australia has made  a slow but a solid start of the innings and have scored 152 runs in 26 over for the loss of 3 wickets. Warner, Watson and Smith lost their wickets early but opener Finch and Baily have done a good job by building the innings. Finch in on his way to score first century of ICC world cup 2015. With Maxwell and Marsh in the line up Australia can think of posting a 300+ target for England team.

England team bowlers on the other hand are looking in good rhythm and a quick wickets means they are in good business for the first match of the world cup against they host. Keep a close eye on the score board above.

Bangladesh Cricket Team has something to prove this World Cup

Bangladesh cricket team has developed a lot, the team performance has improved but they are yet to prove something to the fans and the world. This nation has yet to win any major ICC event or event made it to final or semi finals. It was only in the 2007 world cup that they defeated India in group stage to reach super eights and then defeat South Africa.

However after that the team is still to show the cricketing skills the team is capable off.  Lets take a look at the Bangladesh cricket team for the world cup. It seems they have a quiet good number of ODI specialists in the team. Selectors seems to have done a nice job by picking a balanced team for the 2015 world cup that stars in less than 10 days from today.

Here is the list of the Bangladesh squad for the world cup:

  1. Mashrafe Mortaza
  2. Al-Amin Hossain
  3. Anamul Haque
  4. Arafat Sunny
  5. Mahmudullah
  6. Mominul Haque
  7. Mushfiqur Rahim
  8. Nasir Hossain
  9. Rubel Hossain
  10. Sabbir Rahman
  11. Shakib Al Hasan
  12. Soumya Sarkar
  13. Taijul Islam
  14. Tamim Iqbal
  15. Taskin Ahmed
Bangladesh cricket team is one of the team that consists of young players in the squad. Only one player (Mashrafe Mortaza ) is above 30 year and his age is also 31 years. So its quiet a young team.

Most of the teams performance and success in world cup will depend upon the performance of players like Shakib Al Hasan who is one of the most experienced player who also possess experience playing in various T20 franchise and that experience might help him at the world cup stage. Batting will depend mainly on the openers and top order which inlcudes Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rehman. However the dilemma is that no Bangladesh batsmen have scored a century at world cup so far.

Our best wishes to the Bangladesh cricket team !

Meet the Australian Team for the ICC World Cup 2015

This is second part of the series Meet the world cup teams. In this post we are going to take a look at the team of the hosting nation Australia. Australia is the co host with New Zealand and the team looks in the fine touch to lift the world cup title for the record fifth time. We'll get to see this as the tournament progresses. However lets take a look at the Australian 15 men squad for the world cup.

The team is lead by Michael Clark and George Bailey will be his deputy. The complete team members lists is as follows:

  1. Michael Clarke
  2. George Bailey
  3. Pat Cummins
  4. Xavier Doherty
  5. James Faulkner
  6. Aaron Finch
  7. Brad Haddin
  8. Josh Hazlewood
  9. Mitchell Johnson
  10. Mitchell Marsh
  11. Glenn Maxwell
  12. Steven Smith
  13. Mitchell Starc
  14. David Warner
  15. Shane Watson
The Australian team didn't have a very good 2014 as per the standards of the team that have won 3 world cup tournaments successfully. But it seems that they have got the midas touch back again. They beat India 3-0 in test and then are playing brilliantly in the currently Triangular series that also features England. The bowling is strong with the presence of  Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Xavier Doherty and Pat Cummins. The batting line up is quiet balanced with David Warner, George Bailey, Michael Clarke, James Faulkner and  Aaron Finch. The beat part of this team is presence on all rounders and big hitter that can turn the match at any moment. Players like Maxwell are already popular among fans from not only Australia but other nations as well.

World Cup Matches Schedule for Australian Cricket Team: Australia will play their first match  on the day one of the world cup and I hope they will play on the last day of the world cup as well. Meet the Afghanistan Team for the ICC World Cup 2015

Afghanistan cricket board has announced the 15 member squad for the upcoming cricket world cup. With around one and half month left the the tournament this is the right move for the board to declare the team and let them focus on the preparations. Let us discuss the team players and their recent form, achievements in detail here. The team list is as follows:

  1. Mohammad Nabi Eisakhail
  2. Nawroz Mangal
  3. Afasr Khan Zazai
  4. Mohamma Javed Ahmadi
  5. Mirwais Ashraf
  6. Gulbadin Naib
  7. Mohammad Ashghar Stanizai
  8. Samiullah Shinwari
  9. Najibullah Zadran
  10. Usman Ghani
  11. Nasir Jamal
  12. Hamid Hassan
  13. Shapoor Zadran
  14. Dawlat Zadran
  15. Aftab Alam
Mohammad Nabi and Nawroz Mangal the team captain and vice captains respectively. Both these players are bowl right arm off-break and are strong pillars of the batting line.  Nawroz Mangal has captained the Afghanistan team in the past and his experience will be crucial and helpful both for the team and to the new captain Nabi as well.  Afasr Khan Zazai is the only wicket keeper in the squad and in case of any injuries any batsmen is most likely to keep the wickets for Afghanistan team. The fifteen member squad included a couple of all rounders and batsmen but I guess the selectors should have picket a few more fast bowlers in the 15 members squad. There are only 4 fast bowlers in the team. One or two additional fast bowlers might have given the coach and the captain some more choices to pick the bowlers.

Now when the team is already announced we wish all the best to the Afghanistan cricket team. The team is already in Australia for preparations.

If the Afghan cricket team plays well and win a couple of matches in the group stage, they have the chances to qualify for the knock out rounds. But this first time world cup appearance is a great opportunity to the team to learn and grow further in the world of cricket. We once again wish the very best to the Afghanistan cricket team and hope this would be the first of many ICC world cup appearances for them.
