Anil Kumble reitres from One Day Cricket

Master leg-spinner Anil Kumble announced today to retire from One Day Cricket and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) office-bearers will be in action to arrange for a formal announcement on his retirement from One-day cricket in the next few days. Kumble, the 36-year-old cricketer, arguably India’s best bowler and certainly the most potent match-winner.Kumble, during his long career of 113 Tests and 271 One-Day Internationals, was the architect of many Indian triumphs in both formats of the game. His record of 547 wickets in Tests and 337 scalps in One-dayers is a testimony to his longevity and perseverance.

Why India failed in world cup

ufffff jisse darte they wahio baat ho gayi :( What I posted in humour came true and India is now out ICC world cup. Also read my last post "Cricket and Indo - Pak Unity ". Now as India is out of world cup lets point out what are the possible reason of early ellimination of team India from the world cup. Atleast none in the cricket crazy nation has expected this.

Reasons India failed :
1: The wrong coach - Mission 2007 was what he was appointed for he was satisfied with the preparation but his rotation policies and experimentation proved out to be fatal.

2: The wrong captain - As a team member none better than him but as a captian. Dravid lacks the killer instinct nad also I hate his filed palcement no slip for new batsman what the hell.

3: The wrong selectors - givving shit over there. virender sehwag, kumble, laxman all contrversies.

4: The wrong men in the BCCI - What is sharad pawar doin over there.

5: The wrong fan base - what to say about these fans.

Cricket and Indo - Pak Unity

Got a funny pic over net on Indo Pak unity in cricket. As u know pakistanis out of world cup and Indias feat depends upon todays match against Sri Lanka. India is in miust win situation to keep its hopes alive in world cup.

India Vs Bermmuda : Slew of records

Indias second match in world cup against Bermuda saw a lot rcords being broken. After great setback from Bangladesh India recovered back fullly and all ther hope of makin it to worlcup second round depends upon tomorrows match against Sri Lanka.

Commin to India win, India's 413/5 is their highest-ever total in ODIs and the highest ever in the World Cup, the previous best being Sri Lanka's 398/5 against Kenya at Kandy in 1996.

While India's highest total in the World Cup till Monday was 373/6 against Sri Lanka at Taunton in 1999, their best effort in ODIs overall was 376/2 against New Zealand at Hyderabad in 1999.

India have now become the fourth team to post an ODI total in excess of 400 after South Africa, who have done it twice (438/9 vs Australia at Johannesburg and 418/5 against Zimbabwe at Potchefstroom, both in 2006); Australia (434/4 against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2006); and Sri Lanka, who posted a world record 443/9 against The Netherlands at Amstelveen in 2006.

Where India registered a world record was in the victory margin. Their 257-run win snatched the record away from Australia (301/6), who had beaten Namibia (45) by 256 runs at Potchefstroom in the 2003 world Cup.

India also equalled the ODI record for most sixes in an innings to share honours with South Africa, who slammed 18 sixes against The Netherlands at Basseterre a few days ago in this World Cup.

India also slammed 30 fours during the carnage, to accumulate 228 runs by way of boundaries.

The record in this regard is held by Sri Lanka, who had made Kenya pay to the tune of 43 fours and 14 sixes for a combined total of 256 runs in boundaries in their 1996 World Cup encounter.

This brings us to Virender Sehwag, who reached his century off 81 balls to post the second-fastest century in a World Cup.

Sehwag's effort is next only to Canada batsman John Davison's 67-ball century against West Indies at Centurion in the 2003 World Cup.

Live scoreboard and ball to ball details are available here.....
Altohugh matchhas been delayed by half an hour but no fear of more showers according to weather deptt. There have been some high scores on this ground - with England twice failing to defend 280-plus totals against West Indies in 2004 - but the feeling is that the current pitch is not quite so heavily in favour of the batsmen.

England had made a poor start till now and they are 30/2 in 10 overs so far.

Both teams listed below:

England 1 Ed Joyce, 2 Michael Vaughan (capt), 3 Ian Bell, 4 Kevin Pietersen, 5 Paul Collingwood, 6 Andrew Flintoff, 7 Jamie Dalrymple, 8 Paul Nixon (wk), 9 Liam Plunkett, 10 James Anderson, 11 Monty Panesar

New Zealand 1 Lou Vincent, 2 Stephen Fleming (capt), 3 Ross Taylor, 4 Scott Styris, 5 Craig McMillan, 6 Jacob Oram, 7 Brendon McCullum (wk), 8 Daniel Vettori, 9 James Franklin, 10 Jeetan Patel, 11 Shane Bond

Ireland celebrate a memorable World Cup debut

It was as excitine matsch as of 1999 world cup semi final between Australia and South Africa, the world cup 2007 match between Zimbawe and Ireland. Both the Irish players and their magnificent fans deserve enormous credit for making this a memorable occasion. Zimbabwe will wonder how they threw away an almost certain victory. The day cetrtainly belonged to the Ireland, and in particular their batting hero Jeremy Bray who scored an unbeaten 115 of 137 balls including 10 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Zimbawe started well and at one stage looking stronger at 92/1 soon they were 135/5 but Stuart Matsikenyeri and Brendan Taylor rebuild the innings but at the end point of game there wer few unnecessary run outs which tok game away from Zimbawe and ended in a draw.

Man of the match Jeremy Bray celebrates his outstanding hundred ...
