Two important series that can decide Indian cricket team for World Cup 2015

There is still around a year and half left for the ICC cricket world cup 2015 to start, however the cricket tournaments that would be played in these 18 months period would be crucial for every players from every participating nation.  Players form and fitness in these tournaments can be the deciding factor if the player will get selected for the world cup team or not. In this post I am posting about two important cricket series for the Indian cricket team .

Before the ICC cricket world cup 2015 Indian cricket team has two play two important series. One is a home series against Australia and second in the Indian cricket team tour to South Africa. The home series against Australia will consist of one twenty twenty match and seven ODI matches.  Since this series is being played at home grounds many of the blog readers might thing that its an insignificant game, but I've two valid points one that the oppostion team is Australia, which is co-host for the 2015 cricket wold cup and secondly the players form in this series can get them selected for the South African tour thus indirectly the series against Australia will decide a players inclusion in the list of probables for the world cup 2015.

The tour of South Africa is a long one which will include 2 T20 games, 7 ODI and 3 test matches. Apart from these matches there would be practice matches against domestic teams of South Africa. So tour of South Africa will give a nice exposure to Indian players of bouncy, fast pitches and nay players who performs here would get the ticket for the world cup where pitch conditions are almost the same.

India Wins ICC World Cup 2011 - ICC Cricket World Cup

Well what a tournament it have been and final was a real battle between two of the best team not in Asia but in the world. In the end Indian cricket team proved to be better side and they take the world cup 2011 with them.

We at http://icccricket.blogspot.com congratulate Tean India for the world cup victory and with them good luck as now they will need to play as world champions for the next four years.

I will post the vidoes, wallpapers and memorable moments of 2011 cricket world cup soon.

Also its time for all the world players to switch to twenty twenty mode and IPL 2011 is about to begin in 5 days. We will cover the IPL season 2011 as well. So keep visitng for all the live cricketing action.

Quarter Final Match Today - ICC Cricket World Cup

Well this quarter final between South Africa and New Zealand also turned out to be a great match won easily by New Zealand despite posting a low score of 221. South African cricket team will once again carry the tag of chokers. It is surprising that a team of the levels of South Africa has never ever win any knock out match in the world cup.

At the same time New Zealand cricket team has entered the semi finals for the sixth time. The winner of the today's match between Sri Lanka and England will take on New Zealand in the first semi final match of the world cup on Tuesday March 29 whereas the second semi final will be played between India and Pakistan on the next day at Mohali Cricket Stadium in Mohali, Punjab.

Let talk about today's match which is about to begin in few minutes. Both the teams have different playing styles and Sri Lanka may look strong due to home conditions but we should not forger than England cricket team is the winner of T20 world cup and they are playing very good cricket from last few months. Though England have lost to Ireland and had a draw against India, they defeated South Africa, West Indies and other teams convincingly. On their day English team can defeat any team in the world. Let see how luck turn out to be for both the teams.

Latest news is that England won the toss and elected to bat first.

Match 24 ICC world Cup Sri Lanka VS Zimbabwe

Sri Lank got of to a flying start both the openers scored centuroies and are still not out while game is progressing in the 41 over. Dilshan is playing on 127 and Upul Tharanga is batting on 109. Now I rarely see if Zimbabwe bowlers can do any miracle here but they can get some compensatory wickets in case Sri Lanka batsmen try to exce,l the score.

Sri Lanka has score 248 run in 41.1 overs without loosing any wickets and this game is also heading for a 300+ score.

Australia Vs Sri Lanka World Cup Match Preview

After the Pakistan and Sri Lanka game the tomorrows match between Sri Lanka and Australia is being considered to be one of the match that will test the real strength of the world cup favourites. For Sri Lanka this match is a must win match not only just to keep hopes for next round of the world cup alive but also to keep the team morale high. If Sri Lankan team loses the match to Australia then I can definitely say world cup is not for this Sri Lankan team. On the other hand for Australia the match will be the real test of the batting and bowling skills against the team in the sub-continent.

No doubt tomorrows match will also decide the fate for Australian fourth consecutive world cup title. Lasith Malinga, Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis are three top guns in bowling Sri Lanka have, I am not sure how many of Australian batsmen will have any special plans to handle the 30 overs to be bowled by these three bowlers.

Though Australia have won the matches against New Zealand and Zimbawe but one should keep in mind the fact that Ausralia lost both the warm up matches hey played against world cup favorties South Africa and India. Luckily for Ricky Ponting both the teams are not in the same group.

Keep logged in to watch the live action of the match between the two teams.

Sri Lanka v Pakistan World Cup Match Live

This is definitely one of the most exciting matches of the group stage in the world cup 2011. Sri Lanka and Pakistan, both one time champions taking each other in the group stage of 2011 world cup. Both the team have good combination of spin and pace bowlin atttack and some very good batsmen in the world. This match between the two team will be goin to be a high scorig match.

As this is going to be a day nigh t match I guess toss may play a littly role guessgin the due factor which can make fielding and bowling little difficult under lights.

You can catch all the live action of the match here at the ICC Cricket Blog. Thanks was visitng and enjot the world cup :)

Netherlands Team for Cricket World Cup 2011

Hey, its just around one and a half month left for the Cricket world cup to start. Sooner I'll be posrting about team arriving in the three co-hosting countries and warm up matches played among the nations. Update for the moment is that Peter Borren will lead the Netherlands team for the world cup 2011. It will be first time he will be leadin the country in World Cup.

Netherlands is the first nations fo announcew the 15-man squad for the world cup. the deadline for announcing hte 15 membed squad is January 19 but since several of their players in Netherlands team are not full-time professional cricketers and need to balance the World Cup with their other jobs. Netherlands, who are in Group B, will play their first game against England on February 22.

Count Down to Cricket World cup 99 days to go

Now its less than 100 day to go for the most competitive cricket event to stat. You can keep the watch tickling in the front of this blog. Now as its around three monts left for the event to start, you will definitely see more updated about world cup being posted at this ICC Cricket Blog.

ICC has also started the promotion of the event and first step in thei effort was to appoing the great cricketer Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar as the ambassador for 2011 Cricket World Cup. Sachin has been the souce of inspiration not only cricketers in India and abroad but to the sports person in other games as well. By playing this world cup Sachin will equal the record of Pakistan's Javen Maindad to play six world cup tournaments.

Match 2 World Cup 2011 Kenya v New Zealand at Chennai

Group A will play the second match of world cup 2011 at Chennai where Kenya will face New Zealand. Both the teams had not played much matches against each other but experts took New Zealand as the favorites for the match.

Kenya team though have good experience of playing in world cup still they don't have any real tournament apart from one where they manager to reach the super six. This team need a super coach from Australia or Pakistan and then perhaps team fortunes will change one day.

Fans of both the teams and cricket lovers can watch the match score live at http://icccricket.blogspot.com

ICC Cricket World Cup Opening Match - World Cup 2011

ICC Cricket World Cup Opening Match - World Cup 2011
Feb 19, 2011 will be the day when the opening match of the ICC cricket world cup 2011 will be played between the two co-hosts India and Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh. Sri Lanka is the third hosting country, initially the other country Pakistan was also one of the co-hosts for the world cup but later ICC ruled out any possibility of world cup matches in Pakistan due to security concern, remember Sri Lankan cricket team was attacked by terrorists in Pakistan while they were on there way to the Stadium and many players had a narrow escape.

Coming back to the first match of the cricket world cup 2011 between India and Bangladesh. Both the teams are in Group B. England, West Indies, Ireland, Netherlands and South Africa are the other teams in the Group B.

India may seem to be the favorites for the world cup opener match however If you go by stats then the only world cup match played between India and Bangladesh was won by Bangladesh, also match in being played in Bangladesh thus the Bangla team can be a surprise package in the opening of the 2011 cricket world cup.

ICC World Cup 2011 Warm up matches

India will play Australia & New Zealand in the warm up matches for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Below is the schedule for the world cup warm up matches:

February 16: India v New Zealand in Chennai, Sri Lanka v West Indies in Colombo, England v Canada in Dhaka

February 18: England v Pakistan in Dhaka

Given the current news of betting and spot betting, I am sure the bookies will be targeting world cup lets see if Indian police or other crime investigation departments will be able to keep a check on this. If a control on betting is not there the game will soon loose its charm to other games.

ICC World Cup 2011 and Umpire review system

The Internation Cricket Council (ICC) has approved the use of controversial umpire review system for the cricket world cup 2011. The rule had a mix reviewd from the players and the experts. It was also announced that the review system will be implemented in the test cricket also wherein each team can have the option of two referrals per innings. This means a total of 8 umpire decisions can be reffered to third upmire in a test match by the players.

Like previous world cup matches the world cup 2011 will have two pools of teams i.e. group A and group B.
Here are the team groupings:

Group A: Australia, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Canada, Kenya.
Group B: Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland South Africa, West Indies, Netherlands.

ICC also pointed out a reductionin the number of teams playing in the future world cups.

World Cup T20 - Muttiah Muralitharan out due to injury

Sri Lankan team got a major blow when the great spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket twenty twenty world cup due to a groin injury. Murali is expected to be fir after three weeks, Sri Lanka board is yet to name the replacement for him. Murali got the injuru during the first match against NewZealand that Sri lost.

Other updates from the ICC T20 world cup:

Australia begin the tournament with a win by defeating defending champion Pakistan by 34 runs. Bried scores are as below:
Australia 191 (Watson 81, D Hussey 53, Aamer 3-23) beat Pakistan 157 (Misbah 41, Tait 3-20, Nannes 3-41) by 34 runs
Australians were top of the game right from the begining. In another match played yesterday Suresh Raina became the first batsmen to score a centruy in T20 world cup 2010. Also he is the firat Indian batsmen to score a century in twenty twenty international matches. India won the match South Africa tried to give the score a chase but it was too late the time they started accelerating the score. Brife score:
India 186 for 5 (Raina 101, Yuvraj 37) beat South Africa 172 for 5 (Kallis 73) by 14 runs.

Pakitstanon the way to defend T20 worl champion title

Well they started the first match as champions, Bangladesh looked no where impressive in the bowling except in the death overs. Pakistan has set a target of 173 runs to win for Bangladesh. Given such a huge score to chase Bangladesh mad a horror start by loosing first wicket at the score of one run. Noe let see how Bangladesh will chase the target.

Tomorrows matches:

Group C: India v South Africa at Gros Islet - India has won the first match and seems they are now eligible for the next round however if they won the tomorrows match it will give me the confidence that team India has the potential to win the T20 world cup once again.

Australia v Pakistan at Gros Islet - Pakistan will take on Australia in the sixth match of the tournament - Now here Australia need to win this match and make a solid start. Aussies are yet to prove there worth in this format of the game.

Live India Vs Afghanistan Twenty Twenty Match - T20 World Cup

New Zealand and West Indies made a winning start to the tournament, for New zealand it was a heard fight whic they somehow managed to win in the end with one ball to spare. For West Indies it was a easy win hopefully this win will boost there hopes and home advantage is the next big thing for the carribean team.

Below are the final scores of both T20 world cup matches:

New Zealand 139 for 8 (Ryder 42, Murali 2-25) beat Sri Lanka 135 for 6 (Jayawardene 81) by two wickets

West Indies 138 for 9 (Sammy 30, Dockrell 3-16) beat Ireland 68 (Sammy 3-8, Rampaul 3-17) by 70 runs

Today the third match of the tournament will be played between the winners of the First T20 world cup in 2007 and the debutants Afghanistan. Afghanistan team will be playing to mark up there place in world of cricket and in case they manage to cause a setback it would be good for a country whic in already in trouble for various reasons.

I personaly wish Afghanistan makes it to next round of the tournament atleast, a new coutry needs such thing to boos cricket there. Wheather they win or not is a secondary thing Afghanistan team should play to give a real fight to the Indian team. Match should not be a single sided match.

Catch up the live action within few hours.

Another match will be played today between the defending champions Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Sachin & 2011 Cricket World Cup

Rahul Dravid has been dropped from the Indian cricket team after being selected in the team from nowhere and this thing may be seen as most people that its the end for senior players in Indian Cricket Team. Exclusion of Saurav Ganguly and Rahul dravid may support the clain but one thing is sure that Sachin Tendulkar is determined to play the next ICC Cricket world cup and of course the way he is playing he will continue to do so. Even at 36, he is fully deserving of a place. The rest of the batting - Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir are automatic choices.
