Virtual Quarter Final for Pakistan & West Indies Today in ICC World T20

In the ICC world T20 world cup 2014, today Pakistan and West Indies will play the last match of the group stage. For both the teams this is a must win match as the victory here would take the winning team to the semi-finals stage of the tournament. This makes the T20 match today a quarter final match for both the teams.

Interestingly this is first time that Pakistan and West Indies will face each other in a T20 world cup. Both the team have a good spin attack and equally good batting line.

Another group stage match will feature Australia and Bangladesh. Both the teams have lost all the three matches they have played so far and this is the last chance to quit the tournament with a win.

ICC Twenty Twenty Word Cup update: 

• SL beat NZ in a virtual quarter final - Just like the match today between Pak and WI, the yesterday match for Sri Lanka and New Zealand was a quarter final. Sri Lanka team won the match and proceed to the semi finals stage along with South Africa and India. It was a low scoring match and initially it seemed Sri Lanka might lose the match but a powerful spell from Herath, combined with an injury and two run outs cost the match for New Zealand team.
• Netherland beat England: This was one of the match that got minimum crowd. And to surprise all Netherland won the match. 

ICC World T20 semi final 1 - The first semi final of the tournament will be played between Sri Lanka and the winner of the match today (Pak Vs WI). In case the match between both the teams is washed out West Indies will qualify based on better net run rate. Match will be played on 3-April-2014 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur

ICC World T20 semi final2 - The second semi final will be played between India and South Africa. India is so far the only undefeated team in the tournament. However South Africa team has a very aggressive pace attack lead by Dale Steyn.  Though South Africa has never won any major international event, I'm getting the feel that South Africa team may feature in the T20 world cup final on April 6. In case this happens it could be first world cup final for South Africa.

India bat first in second T20 Match

Pakistan cricket team won an important toss today and asked Indian cricket team to bat first. I think the Pakistan skipper made an important decision as it'd be tough to bowl later in the night as dew can play an important role that time.

Indian team though had made a slow but steady start for their innings and so far they have scored more than 59 runs in 8 overs losing two wickets of G. Gambhir and A. Rahane. Both the batsmen were tricked by the deliveries of opposition teams fast bowler Umar Gul in two successive overs.

Currently T20 specialist Yuvraj Singh and  Virak Kohli are batting and if they continue to play til lthe 15th over I am sure India would be in a position to score a competitive total as they have more T20 specialist batsmen like Rain and Dhoni to follow.

However if Pakistan can get one or two quick wickets at this stage then they might trigger the collapse of famous Indian batting line as they did in the last match.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar makes impressive debut despite India loss

Though India lost the first T20 match of the two match it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who made a dream debut in twenty twenty format for the team India. In his spell of 4 overs he swung the ball both the ways and bowled like someone who have played lots of T20 matches for India and not the one who is playing his first international match.

It was very much interesting to see that he bowled with a plan like the way got the wicket of Umar Akmal. Four out swinging balls and then once coming in beating the batsmen and hitting the wickets. All the expert commentators from both Pakistan and India were full of praise for the new bowler and see a future for him in team India.

Who cost the match for team India
No doubt it is the batting dept. which is costing the matches for team India from some recent times and yesterday also  batsmen let the match go from the hand. Thanks to some superb bowling efforts else Pakistan should have easily won the match in 15 overs or less.

2nd T20 match between India and Pakistan
2nd T20 match between both the teams will be played at Ahmedabad on 28th December and Pakistan team has all the chances to beat  India and win the series. It'll definitely do some good for Pakistan cricket team which is still facing some hard times. On the other hand team India can only play to win the last T20 match and show their worth in the shorter version of the game at least. They are now nowhere a lethal team in tests be it playing at home or outside.

ICC World Twenty20 2012 Match Today

Today on the fourth day of the tournament called ICC World Twenty20 2012, two matches will be played. Before I start my overview of the matches to be played today a sad news for the supporters of Zimbabwe cricket team. Zimbabwe team lost their second consecutive match in the tournament, this time to South Africa. This defeat means end of the gates for the super 8 stage of twenty twenty world cup 2012 for the team. Thus Zimbabwe is officially the first team to be knocked out from  ICC World Twenty20 2012 Match.

Another team is on the verge fo exit from the tournament today. Afghanistan plays against the defending champions and current number one team in T20 i.e. England. If Afghanistan looses the match today then this means they;ll exit the tournament. However given the way the Afghan team played against India, I am sure the match against would be very very interesting and not a dull one sided affair like the match played yesterday between South Africa and Zimbabwe. My best wishes to the defending champions and the Afghanistan team.

Second match will be played between Bangladesh and New Zealand. Both the teams have not won any major international tournament and would like to make a solid start in the tournament by winning the match. Bangladesh team might have the home conditions advantage but New Zealand had some enough practice with the recent outing to India and the practice matches. With Pakistan as the other team of the group it'd be important for Bangladesh and New Zealand to win this match.

T20 World Cup Match India Vs Afghanistan Today Score

Afghanistan team is playing the ICC world T20 tournament for the second time and coincidentally in both the occasion they will play the opening match with same opponent i.e team India. In the papers Indian cricket team looks solid against the Afghanistan team. But if we look at the stats of last 5 matches both the team looks at the same level. Summary of the opening match
What an opening match we'd  at Hambantota, Sri Lanka between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. By the first innings it seemed that match would be an interesting one and Zimbabwe would post some tough times for the favotires Sri Lanka. However the moment one wicket of Zimbabwe fell they all fell like a deck of cards one by one and in the end Sri Lanka won the ICC world T20 opening match by 82 runs.  Target of 183 runs was never in the reach of Zimbabwe team who put on an ordinary performance at the field. ICC World T20 Sri Lanka 2012 updates

Now its less that a month for the T20 world to start and nearby all the participating teams has announced there teams. Its no surprise that many of the teams has given preference to young and uncapped players ahead of the some experienced and mature players.  Twenty twenty is one such format where you have to choose a team very carefully as you need a team that sprints not only while fielding but very quick in running between the wickets as well. The more young the player better he fits the team unless you are some extraordinary talent like J. Kallis, D. Vettory etc or if you have some extraordinary performances in the domestic T20 leagues like IPL, BBL, SLPL etc. E.g. L. Balaji of India was picked for the T20 team for his great performance in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders team who won this year.

• Kevin Pietersen  may have missed being selected for the England T2o team but he got selected as the part of TV crew so we might see him doing commentary or post match discussions etc.Please note that KP was player of the tournament last time when England won the T20 world cup. Thus it might be bad for the defending champions to lose a player of his caliber.
• Sri Lanka cricket team has given opportunity to a teenager named Akila Dananjaya, who still haven;t played any kind of competitive cricket except the ongoing SLPL. Dananjaya was neither the part of U-19 team but his performance in the ongoin T20 tournament in Sri Lanka has earned him confidence of the Sri Lankas captain Mahela Jayawardene who recommended his name for the list of 30 probables. 
• There is still no news about injured Kumara Sangakara about being match fit by the time tournament starts. No doubt he will be in the team if he is fit. 
• D. Bravo and A. Russel make their comeback in the T20 team for West Indies. Most important thing for the West Indies squad is that they have the T2o super star, C. Galye back in the team after a long gap. He along can take the tgeam to victory as we have seen in many of his performances in the IPL, BBL  etc.

ICC World T20 Match Details – T20 World Cup 2012

Sri Lanka is going to host the 4th ICC World T20 championship.  The inaugural match will be played between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe on September 18 at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. The tournament will last 20 days and final will be played on Oct 7 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

List of participating nations in ICC World T20 – 21012:
Apart from the ten ICC test playing nations two ICC associate members who played the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2012 qualifying tournament finals i.e. Afghanistan and Ireland will also play in this year T20 tournament. Here is the complete list of nations competing in the ICC World T20 2012:

From Test to T20 Mode – India Vs Australia First T20

Test Whitewash: Though Indian batsmen have failed individually and as a unit to perform wll in the test series, they still got a chance to impress the fans, media and the selectors by playing well in the two T20 (Twenty twenty matches) against Australia. Please don’t forget that the T20’s will be followed by ODI tri –series that will include Sri Lanka as a third team.


The T20 Mode: The first T20 match between both the teams will be played tomorrow at Sydney. If we take a look at the team Aussies are strong on confidence after defeating India 4-0 whereas Indian team looks nowhere to the International standards. But in shorter forms of the game Indian cricket team can be lethal thus we can hope for a better performance from Indian players.


Indian and Australia T20 Teams: For Australia 40 years old brad hogg makes a comeback in T20 team after nearly 4 years. This comeback has been results of his strong performance in the Australian IPL i.e. Big Bash League. Fast bowler James Faulkner may mark his T20 debut if selected in playing eleven. For India it can be chance of inexperienced Rahul Sharma and Manoj Tiwary to play and offer their candidacy for the T20 world cup to be played in Sri Lanka in September this year. Suresh Raina will be back in the shorter version of the game. Aussies also got a new captain for the T20s

India Vs West Indies T20 Match

Indian team has arrived to compete West Indies in T20 and one day matches with a new coach and New captain. Duncan Fletcher is the new coach of Indian cricket team who took the charge after Gary Kristen resigned immediately following the Indian team world cup win whereas Suresh Raina who has been part of the Indian cricket team from some time is the new captain. Raina has been in and out of the team and almost a surprise for me to see him as a captain.

The first choice was Gautam Gambhir but he had been forced to take his name out of the tournament due the shoulder injury he received during the IPL matches. It'd be interesting to see if team India can win the T20 and one day series as most of the player are not the ones who have been playing for team India from long time. Many seniors players have either rested from the tournaments or are out due to the injuries.


The first T20 match will begin withing 2 hours time from now and it'd be interesting to see who will be in the playing 11 for both the teams.

Well it was a great match every tournament would like to have as beginning match. Close encounter that in the end Lions managed to win. They defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 runs. I think Kevin Pollards wicket was the turning point of the match had he playeh one over more result of the match would have been different.

I still favor him being pushed little ahead in the batting order, a pinch solid hitter like him should be given chance to play more ball, I even don't mind him opening handful of matches as an experiment. Perhaps Mumbai Indian had moved him to bat earlier in the IPL final against they would not be the runners up they could have been the champions.

Tomorrow is a double masti day, you can watch Wayamba from Sri Lanka playing the hosts Warriors, and in the second match you have IPL champions Chennai Super Kings compete the Central Districts from New Zealand.

In the mens T20 World Cup England made it to the Finals and In womens T20 world Cup Australia is in the finals by defeating India in the first semi finals. Now both these team will play the winners of the second semi finals that will beplayed today .

In the mens T20 world cup Australia will play against last time champions Pakistan, Australia seem to have upper hand as they defeated Paksitanin the league stage also. Pakistan cricket team will though want to make it to the finals and retain the world cup trophy with them, but Australian have the more solid reason to win the semi final as its the only tournament Australiand haven't won so fay but wny of the team which win the match they will have problems with England in the final as it has been very long since England reached the finals of any major tournament.

Twenty Twenty Live - Super Eight Matches today

2 matches will be played to decide fate of three teams India, West Indies and Sri Lanka. Both India and West Indies will be playing in one match of the two. For West Indies victory will mean they will move to the next round, however even if India win they match first point os to win with a good margin and second one is that West Indies loose to Australia. Given the form of Australia it looks very rare they will loose to West Indies.

I forget to mention Sri Lanka for them Victory will make it to the semi finals of the T20 world cup however even if they loose but manage to score 144 runs they will knock India out of the tournament.

India have set a target of 164 but for Sri Lanka 144 will be enough to move to the next round. So what will team India play for a win of restrict Sri Lanks for a score less than 144.

Nothing I think because even doing so much hard work will get in vain if West Indies win the next match so Indian just pack up.

Super eight matches - ICC T20 Live Scores

Today was the first day of super eight league of T20 world cup anf England won the first match by defeating the defending champions Pakistan. In the seond match of the super eight league South Africa won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand. There are two changes in the South Africa teams and Gibbs is in replacing Bosman, and Botha replaces van der Merwe.

Indian seamer Parveen Kumar is out of the T20 world cup 2010 due to injury. He got a side strain and will be replaced by Umesh Yadav from Vidarbha Cricket Association and also part of Delhi Deardevils IPL team. Yadav will leave fro West Indies tomorrow.

Aurstralia Vs Bangladesh - Who will move to next round Australia, Bangladesh or Pakistan

Bangladesh made an excellent start in the todays match but lost the hold in last seven matcehs otherwise Australia might have been in trouble. Still Bangladesh can chase the target of 142 I think and in case they manage to do it in less than 19 overs Pakistan would be out of the tournament and in rarest conditions if they chase it in 14 overs Australia woud be out of the tournament.

But I doubt the batting of the Bangladesh team but still hope they can win this match. In another important match Afghanistan will take on South Africa in a do or die match for both the teams.

World Cup T20 - Muttiah Muralitharan out due to injury

Sri Lankan team got a major blow when the great spinner Muttiah Muralitharan has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket twenty twenty world cup due to a groin injury. Murali is expected to be fir after three weeks, Sri Lanka board is yet to name the replacement for him. Murali got the injuru during the first match against NewZealand that Sri lost.

Also he is the firat Indian batsmen to score a century in twenty twenty international matches. India won the match South Africa tried to give the score a chase but it was too late the time they started accelerating the score. Brife score:
