World T20 2016 Match Today - India Vs New Zealand

Now when the first round of the ICC world T20 is over and some lucky team managed to join other teams to the super 10 group, the ICC World T20 now has really begun. Now you can see fully crowded stadiums and more heat on and off the ground.

Today is the first match of super 10 and this match is to be played between the host team India and New Zealand. .The match will be played at Nagpur and it starts from 7:30 pm IST (+5:30 GMT). This match is from the team of Group 2. There are 5 team each in group 1 and group 2.  If we take a quick look at the squads then the Indian T20 team looks far stronger than the current New Zealand team. The NZ team is quite inexperienced however there bowling can be the biggest surprise for the strong Indian batting line. Also the IPL exposure is a big plus for team India, making them the favorites not only for today's match but also for the T20 world cup.

ICC World T20 Semi Final Match Today

Indian will play against South African in the second semi final match of ICC T20 World cup tournament. The Indian cricket team has relied heavily on the spin balling attack and has remained unbeaten in all the 4 matches played in the tournament so far. However knock out stage is a different ball game.

South Africa cricket team has never won any T20 world cup and this might be a golden chance for them. South Africa has a very lethal balling attack and it could hamper the Indian solid batting line on any day. The result from the yesterday match are sufficient to support my statement, everyone was expecting the defending champion West Indies to win the match against Sri Lanka but they are our of the tournament now. Same thing can happen to team India today.

For team India it could be difficult to choose between Dhawan and Rahane for the opening slot. Might be captain Dhoni could surprise everyone with some changes in the pace attack or in the batting order. This captain cool is highly unpredictable at the knock out stages with his strategies.

ICC World T20 World Cup Live Match Score Today

Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka lead the team in a virtual quarter final match against New Zealand and once again Malinga is given the chance to lead the team in the semi-final match against West Indies today. Both the teams previously met in the final of last T20 world cup in the year 2012 and Sri Lanks lost that match to the West Indies team. This is a perfect time when the Sri Lankan team could take the revenge and feature in back to back finals of the T20 world cup. West Indies team on the other hand is getting stronger in this format of the game.

The Biggest challenge for Malinga is to keep the explosive batsmen from the West Indies, which is quiet a difficult task. The winning team from today's match will face the winners from the second final match (India Vs South Africa, to be played tomorrow) on Sunday, 6 April.

Virtual Quarter Final for Pakistan & West Indies Today in ICC World T20

In the ICC world T20 world cup 2014, today Pakistan and West Indies will play the last match of the group stage. For both the teams this is a must win match as the victory here would take the winning team to the semi-finals stage of the tournament. This makes the T20 match today a quarter final match for both the teams.

Interestingly this is first time that Pakistan and West Indies will face each other in a T20 world cup. Both the team have a good spin attack and equally good batting line.

Another group stage match will feature Australia and Bangladesh. Both the teams have lost all the three matches they have played so far and this is the last chance to quit the tournament with a win.

ICC Twenty Twenty Word Cup update: 

• SL beat NZ in a virtual quarter final - Just like the match today between Pak and WI, the yesterday match for Sri Lanka and New Zealand was a quarter final. Sri Lanka team won the match and proceed to the semi finals stage along with South Africa and India. It was a low scoring match and initially it seemed Sri Lanka might lose the match but a powerful spell from Herath, combined with an injury and two run outs cost the match for New Zealand team.
• Netherland beat England: This was one of the match that got minimum crowd. And to surprise all Netherland won the match. 

ICC World T20 semi final 1 - The first semi final of the tournament will be played between Sri Lanka and the winner of the match today (Pak Vs WI). In case the match between both the teams is washed out West Indies will qualify based on better net run rate. Match will be played on 3-April-2014 at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur

ICC World T20 semi final2 - The second semi final will be played between India and South Africa. India is so far the only undefeated team in the tournament. However South Africa team has a very aggressive pace attack lead by Dale Steyn.  Though South Africa has never won any major international event, I'm getting the feel that South Africa team may feature in the T20 world cup final on April 6. In case this happens it could be first world cup final for South Africa.

T20 Dhamaka - India Vs Pakistan in ICC World T20

Are you ready for the T20 game of the tournament. Yes I'm talking about the twenty twenty match between India and Pakistan to be played tomorrow. This match could perhaps be the most watched match and unexpected crowd might turn up for the match.

India and Pakistan matches are always a cracker and T20 adds more excitement to that. Pakistan team has shown the T20 caliber in the past by featuring in the two finals, winning one. Indian cricket team on the other hand not matched to the expectations after surprisingly winning the inaugural T20 world cup in 2007. They have some good match winners like Yuvraj, Dhoni etc but Indian cricket team has played very less T20 international matches recently. However the Indian coach, captain and the BCCI is banking on the experience of IPL.

Both India and Pakistan are in a difficult group with Australia and West Indies the other teams in the group. It'd be nice for both the teams to start the tournament on a winning node. A win not only means a good start but might make is easier for them to qualify for the next round of the T20 world cup.

Malinga Vs Gayle in T20 World cup final today

Its just few hours left and we'll see the final of ICC T20 World cup final today. The match will be played between Sri Lanka and West Indies at Colombo. The scheduled time of the start of the play is 17:30 local (+5:30 GMT). Sri Lanka team has been consistent in last couple of years but unlucky to win a major tournament despite the fact that sometimes team had payment issues. Team Sri Lanka has played 3 finals so far and lost all of them. Two of those finals were in the ICC Cricket world cup tournament of 2007 and 2011 which they lost to Australia and India respectively. The other was the last year T20 final which they lost to England. I am sure Sri Lankan team will not leave any stone upturned to win the finals this time. 

If we consider the West Indies team they haven't won any major tournament in last decade I guess. Thus West Indies team has to fight for their lost pride which they have when they won the first two world cup tournament of 1975 and 1979. 

One interesting thing to watch would be the battle between Lasith Malinga and Chirs Gayle. Both the players are potential match winners who can win matches for their team of their own. 

Let wait and see whats on  the cards for both the teams but definitely we'll have only one champion and it'll take only 2-3 hours for us to see the new T20 champion today.

Pakistan recover from a poor start

Except Australia all the three team in this Group of Super 8 has to play the most important match for the tournament today. A defeat for any one of India, Pakistan and South Africa will mean exit way from the tournament.

Please note that any one team from the above three will qualify for the semi-finals of ICC T20 world cup 2012. Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies are the team that have already qualified for the semi finals.

T20 Match between Australia and Pakistan Today:

Considering that this is an important match for Pakistan and they need to win this match at any cost to make it to the semi finals. The Pakistan team made a slow but the team can hope of a quick recovery as they don't have lost much wickets as they did in previous match against India. So far 13 overs has been bowled with Pakistan scoring 89 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. If they can manage to take the score to above 160 runs they'll have a chance to win the match. Thought the Pakistani team bowler will have to do the tough tasks for stooping the likes to  David Warner and Shane Waston and keep them from scoring boundaries, which they have been doing easily so far in the twenty twenty world cup tournament.

Super Eights Match 2 - West Indies vs England

I hope you all liked the Super Eights match one between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.  Before I write here about the second match today between West Indies and England which is just about to begin in next few minutes, I'd like to ask for your appologies about my previous post. There is one correction that I'd like to make that the Super Eight stage is not a knock out state rather all the eight team that have qialified have been placed in two groups, thus each team here will play 3 games each and 2 team from each group will qualify for the semi finals. 

Though England are the defending champions and currently ranked one in the ICC T20 rankings, they have some problems against spin bowling. Since West Indies team have some very quality spin bowlers like Sunil Narine, Gayle, Badree etc, it'd be interesting to see how England batsmen make up for this. West Indies batting on the other hand is most strong batting line in T20s, with some players that can single handly win matches for the team. England team has the dual pressue first to face the spin attach and then stop West Indies hitter from scoring runs. Let see if England can win this match or not.

If you ask me I'd favor the West Indies team as the winners of this match, but since cricket is a game of uncertainity specially the Two format anything can happen. In any cast the game would be an entertainer I guess. Let wait few minutes to catch all the live action and see the scorebaordh ticking live for the match.
 

India & Pakistan play tough opposition today in ICC T20 world cup

Yesterday in the group stage two important games get spoiled due to rain but fortunately we'd results for both the games. South Africa won the rain hit match against Sri Lanka, the match was shortened to seven overs a side. In the second game which I think was the most interesting game of this T20 world cup far, Australia best West Indies by Duckworth Luis system. In the West Indies innings we saw West Indies post a total of 191runs against strong bowling of Australia. I now understand the difference Chris Gayle makes in a team.

Today India and Pakistan will play their respective matches against England and New Zealand. For India, England and New Zealand these matches are of less importance as both the teams has already qualified for the super eight. However Pakistan is playing their first match of the tournament thus they need to start it off in a winning fashion. We may expect some changes in the playing eleven for India,New Zealand and the defending champions England. However Pakistan team need to pick best eleven in the team and that's what the captain Mohammad Hafeez and coach Dav Whatmore might be thinking about. The match between Pakistan will start at 3:30 pm local time (+5:50 GMT) and though it forecasts about rains I am confident of a full play today.

The second match today between India and England will be played at 7:30 pm local time and this might be another interesting match to watch. England are the defending champions of the twenty twenty world cup while Indians are the winners of the first T20 world cup played.  One thing might be interesting to see is the battle between Stuart Broad and Yuvraj Singh. 5 years back in the history it was Yuvraj Singh who hit the England bowler for 6 consecutive sixes in an over. ICC World Twenty20 2012 Match Today

Today on the fourth day of the tournament called ICC World Twenty20 2012, two matches will be played. Before I start my overview of the matches to be played today a sad news for the supporters of Zimbabwe cricket team. Zimbabwe team lost their second consecutive match in the tournament, this time to South Africa. This defeat means end of the gates for the super 8 stage of twenty twenty world cup 2012 for the team. Thus Zimbabwe is officially the first team to be knocked out from  ICC World Twenty20 2012 Match.

Another team is on the verge fo exit from the tournament today. Afghanistan plays against the defending champions and current number one team in T20 i.e. England. If Afghanistan looses the match today then this means they;ll exit the tournament. However given the way the Afghan team played against India, I am sure the match against would be very very interesting and not a dull one sided affair like the match played yesterday between South Africa and Zimbabwe. My best wishes to the defending champions and the Afghanistan team.

Second match will be played between Bangladesh and New Zealand. Both the teams have not won any major international tournament and would like to make a solid start in the tournament by winning the match. Bangladesh team might have the home conditions advantage but New Zealand had some enough practice with the recent outing to India and the practice matches. With Pakistan as the other team of the group it'd be important for Bangladesh and New Zealand to win this match.

T20 World Cup Match India Vs Afghanistan Today Score

Afghanistan team is playing the ICC world T20 tournament for the second time and coincidentally in both the occasion they will play the opening match with same opponent i.e team India. In the papers Indian cricket team looks solid against the Afghanistan team. But if we look at the stats of last 5 matches both the team looks at the same level. Both India and Afghanistan have lost 3 of the 5 T20 international matches they have played. The only difference is that Indian team is lots more experienced that the Afghan team. The only chance the Afghanistan team has for winning it to take over the weak Indian bowling attack because any target given to the strong Indian batting team would be small unless  2 of the Afghan bowlers can face the pressure of T20 and bowl a spell of their life. but remember this is T20 and a couple of overs can change the course of the game. Summary of the opening match
What an opening match we'd  at Hambantota, Sri Lanka between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. By the first innings it seemed that match would be an interesting one and Zimbabwe would post some tough times for the favotires Sri Lanka. However the moment one wicket of Zimbabwe fell they all fell like a deck of cards one by one and in the end Sri Lanka won the ICC world T20 opening match by 82 runs.  Target of 183 runs was never in the reach of Zimbabwe team who put on an ordinary performance at the field. Perhaps they have got another chance to show the potential they have in the next match they play. Wishing both Zimbabwe abd Afghanistan team all the best for their matches.

ICC World T20 Sri Lanka 2012 updates

Now its less that a month for the T20 world to start and nearby all the participating teams has announced there teams. Its no surprise that many of the teams has given preference to young and uncapped players ahead of the some experienced and mature players.  Twenty twenty is one such format where you have to choose a team very carefully as you need a team that sprints not only while fielding but very quick in running between the wickets as well. The more young the player better he fits the team unless you are some extraordinary talent like J. Kallis, D. Vettory etc or if you have some extraordinary performances in the domestic T20 leagues like IPL, BBL, SLPL etc. E.g. L. Balaji of India was picked for the T20 team for his great performance in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders team who won this year.

Lets given some latest updates related to the ICC T20 world cup to be help in Sri Lanka this September.  Here are the most recent news:

• Kevin Pietersen  may have missed being selected for the England T2o team but he got selected as the part of TV crew so we might see him doing commentary or post match discussions etc.Please note that KP was player of the tournament last time when England won the T20 world cup. Thus it might be bad for the defending champions to lose a player of his caliber.
• Sri Lanka cricket team has given opportunity to a teenager named Akila Dananjaya, who still haven;t played any kind of competitive cricket except the ongoing SLPL. Dananjaya was neither the part of U-19 team but his performance in the ongoin T20 tournament in Sri Lanka has earned him confidence of the Sri Lankas captain Mahela Jayawardene who recommended his name for the list of 30 probables. 
• There is still no news about injured Kumara Sangakara about being match fit by the time tournament starts. No doubt he will be in the team if he is fit. 
• D. Bravo and A. Russel make their comeback in the T20 team for West Indies. Most important thing for the West Indies squad is that they have the T2o super star, C. Galye back in the team after a long gap. He along can take the tgeam to victory as we have seen in many of his performances in the IPL, BBL  etc.

ICC World Twenty20 2012 Opening match

The opening match of ICC World Twenty20 2012 will be played between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe on 18th September 2012 at  around 7:30 pm IST. If you are still unaware of the T20 world cup 2012 schedule you can take a look at 2012 T20 world cup fixtures. Please  note that the women's twenty twenty world cup will also be played during the same time at Sri Lanka and if you are interested in Women's cricket then you may take at the schedule of ICC women's T20 world cup as well.

ICC World T20 Match Details – T20 World Cup 2012

Sri Lanka is going to host the 4th ICC World T20 championship.  The inaugural match will be played between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe on September 18 at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota. The tournament will last 20 days and final will be played on Oct 7 at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

List of participating nations in ICC World T20 – 21012:
Apart from the ten ICC test playing nations two ICC associate members who played the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2012 qualifying tournament finals i.e. Afghanistan and Ireland will also play in this year T20 tournament. Here is the complete list of nations competing in the ICC World T20 2012:

Indian Cricket Team assignments before ICC World Championship 2012 T20

IPL 2012 has given enough practice for players from all the cricket playing nations who will compete in the ICC World T20 2012 to be held in Sri Lanka in Sep-Oct 2012. Its a quarter left for the T20 world cup to start and before that Indian team has two important assignment to undertake. One their tour to Sri Lanka where they will play five one day international matches and one T20 match. After that team India will have to play two test matches and two twenty twenty matches against visiting New Zealand team.

Since both the series are being played in the home or the Indian sub-continent conditions. These two series will definitely help Indian cricket team while they will play the ICC world T20 championship.
