World T20 2016 Match Today - India Vs New Zealand

Now when the first round of the ICC world T20 is over and some lucky team managed to join other teams to the super 10 group, the ICC World T20 now has really begun. Now you can see fully crowded stadiums and more heat on and off the ground.

Today is the first match of super 10 and this match is to be played between the host team India and New Zealand. .The match will be played at Nagpur and it starts from 7:30 pm IST (+5:30 GMT). This match is from the team of Group 2. There are 5 team each in group 1 and group 2.  If we take a quick look at the squads then the Indian T20 team looks far stronger than the current New Zealand team. The NZ team is quite inexperienced however there bowling can be the biggest surprise for the strong Indian batting line. Also the IPL exposure is a big plus for team India, making them the favorites not only for today's match but also for the T20 world cup.

We will be posting live updates of the match today here, so just keep refreshing the page ;)

8:45 PM:
Match is in the interesting phase. India has got to a good start and so far they have kept New Zealand batsmen silent not allowing them big boundaries.
Score: NZ 90/6 in 16.4 overs.

Bumrah to bowl the 18th over.

8:49 PM - 100 up for NZ in 18th over.

5 runs in the over of Bumrah. NZ 103/6 in 18 overs.

19th over to be bowled by Jadega. Batsmen just survived a stumping chance.

8:54 PM - If New Zealand somehow manage to get close to 130, this would be a very very competitive score.

Nehra to bowl the last crucial over.

New Zealand 126/7 (20/20 ov)

Innings Break

Indian innings to follow in 20 minutes

Welcome back after the innings break. India has lost a wicket early. The score is Ind 6/1 in 1 over.

9:31 pm - Kapil Dev said during New Zealand Innings that Indian batsmen have not played spinners in good way recently. This seems to be true as Roit Sharma got out to spin bowler in the third over.
Score: Ind 10/2 in 2.2 overs.

Kapil Dev said India lost wickets to spinners a lot recently during New Zealand Innings and it would be great to see how New Zealand spinners bowl today. India lost 3 wicket in 3 over. Score Inda 12/3 in 3 overs.
10:14 pm
Halfway the batting of Indian team, they have lost more than half of the batsmen. Clearly team India is going to lose the match today.
Score:  Ind 43/1 in 10.1 overs

India require another 70 runs in final 6 overs

Does MS Dhoni follows my ICC Cricket Blog

Yes, question arise from the fact that in my previous post titled "World Cup India Vs Ireland Match Live Score Updates" I just posted that I want to see India chase against Ireland and same thing happened today. Indian captain M S Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first. He said he expected the track to be more helpful to bowlers inthe noon than in the evening. I am not sure if this is true but I am sure that Irelands successful chase of 300+ socre against England might have some influence on Dhoni's decision to bowl first.

In the mean while England bowlers failed to cause any early blows to south African batting line up. Though South Africa had a slow start as they score just 38 runs in 9 overs but keepoin in view thy don't have a hug target to achieve this will not bother the captain, coach or the team.

India vs. England not in Eden Gardesn but Bangalore

India vs. England, arguably the biggest match in the first round of the World Cup, has been shunted to Bangalore from Kolkata, a venue switch suggested by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and approved by the International Cricket Council Monday.

“Some people in Kolkata will miss out, but it’s good for Bangalore,” said Rajeev Shukla, spokesman for the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

Not really words to warm the hearts of folks in Kolkata.

And what about the thousands of fans from outside Kolkata (among them, yours truly) who had bought tickets for a once-in-a-lifetime cricketing experience-India vs. England at Eden Gardens, supposedly one of the most magical venues in world cricket?

These fans, who have demonstrated far greater planning and organizational skills than the Kolkata cricket authorities, will have to cancel flights and hotels and assess whether it’s worth making the trip to Bangalore instead. They can rebook tickets online or get in touch with the Karnataka State Cricket Association, Mr. Shukla said.

“Logistics are being worked out,” he said, before firing a warning; “Yes, there will be some problems.”

Hoteliers in Kolkata will also be miffed at losing out on bookings for one of their biggest weekends, and it looks like they will have to look beyond the BCCI for compensation.

“We don’t cover the tourist side of things,” Mr. Shukla said.

At least Bangalore’s 60,000-seater Chinnaswamy Stadium is ready, and an ICC-approved venue, so there are unlikely to be any further setbacks for supporters who rearrange their plans.

Meanwhile, Eden Gardens is in a race to prepare for the three matches it is still set to host – Ireland vs. South Africa on March 15, Ireland vs. Netherlands on March 18 and Kenya vs. Zimbabwe on March 20. The ICC is scheduled to inspect the stadium again on Feb. 7 to assess whether Eden Gardens has pulled itself together and is ready for these lower profile group games.

Indian seamer Parveen Kumar is out of the T20 world cup 2010 due to injury. He got a side strain and will be replaced by Umesh Yadav from Vidarbha Cricket Association and also part of Delhi Deardevils IPL team. Yadav will leave fro West Indies tomorrow.

India vs South Africa - day 1

South Africa won the toss and selected to bat first. Current score is South Africa 97/2 in 33.4 overs. Zaheer Khan got the initial break ups and picked up two wickets in the opening spell. For spineers pitch is making the ball turn and hope this will help India to restrict South africa somewhere beteween 300 to 370. India's battin line looks little weak with absence of Dravi and Laxman, lets see how other batsmen make use of this.

Good luck India maintain the number one positions in the test rankings.

New bowling coach for team India

Eric Simmons the former South Africa coach will join team India as bowling coach for the Bangladesh test series starting from Janurary 17th. Eric will also remain bowling coach for Test and one day series againse South Africa. During his playing time Simons was known for his powerful batting and fast medium batting.

Australia tour of India - ODI Squad to be announced today

After the failure of Indian cricket team in ICC Champions trophy, the judgment day for the Indian cricket team selectors have come. given the form and fitness of various players selectors would be under huge pressure while selecting the team.

One of the major debate among selection committee may be for Rahul Dravid who made comeback for ODIs after two years in the Champions trophy and given his scores in the series (14, 47, 39, 76 and 4) and neither favoring nor against him. But as Yuvraj and Sehwag both are declared fit, Dravid is most likely to be out of the ODI team. Inconsistency of Yusuf Pathan, Ishant Sharma and RP singh will be the other hot topic after Rahul Dravid and new bowling attack with some spinner joining Harbhajan Singh may be seen.

Sourav Ganguly, ex Indian Cricket team captain has been left out of the Rest of India team for the Irani Trophy match. Alongwith Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma and S Badrinath Mohammad Kaif made it to the team thanks to his 94 for India A against Australia A.

India vs Sri lanka first test match

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (Reuters) - Opener Malinda Warnapura scored 50 not out as Sri Lanka reached 85-2 at stumps after Wednesday's rain-interrupted first day of the first test against India.

India's new ball bowlers Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan claimed a wicket apiece during a single 22-over evening session after rain and a wet outfield delayed the start of play until 1530 local time (1000 GMT).

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene was unbeaten on 16 when bad light stopped play for the day having added 28 runs for the third wicket with Warnapura.

Warnapura started shakily but scored quickly after playing himself in, hitting six boundaries in his 74-ball innings.

Sharma struck first for India with a lively delivery that bounced steeply and Michael Vandort (three) edged to wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik.

Kumar Sangakkara (12), the world's number one batsman coming into this test series, edged a swinging delivery from left-armer Zaheer Khan to Rahul Dravid at slip.

Both teams went into the game with two spinners including unorthodox Sri Lanka debutant Ajantha Mendis who destroyed India with a haul of six wickets for 13 in the final of the Asia Cup one-day competition earlier this month.
