ICC World Twenty20 in March 2016 - Schedule of T20 World Cup

My previous blog post was about six consecutive sixes being hit in the history of crickets. One such incident was in 2007 Twenty 20 world cup. Now its once again the time for us to watch those huge sixes being hit in international cricket.

The ICC Twenty 20 world cup 2016 begins in the month of March 2016. The inaugural match to be played on 8-March-2016 and final to be concluded on 2-April-2016. The complete schedule of the tournament matches is listed below:

All the matches are being hosted by India and during March and April the weather is very pretty, not so hot and not so cold. So this is not only going to be good for players but fans will also enjoy a lot. T20 is loved by Indians a lot and like IPL, the Twenty20 world cup will also attract full crowds to the stadiums. 

ICC awards - Sachin, Dhoni & Sehwag nominated

Dubai: India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, senior batsman Sachin Tendulkar and opener Virender Sehwag are among the eight cricketers who have been nominated for the October 6 ICC Awards 2010. Eight players from four teams have each been nominated in three different categories for the award which is scheduled to be held in Bangaluru later this year.

Besides the Indian players, Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis from South Africa, Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger from Australia and Sri Lanka's Mahela Jayawardena will feature prominently in the long-lists for the awards. In addition, there are nine players who are nominated in two distinct categories."The LG ICC Awards are an opportunity for the ICC and FICA to acknowledge and celebrate the remarkable performances of the world's top players," said ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat."It is also a chance for followers of our great sport to reflect on some of the great cricketing feats they have witnessed over the past year. This will be the seventh time the awards have been handed out and picking the winners will not be an easy task for the voting academy," he said.

The seventh annual LG ICC Awards, presented in association with the Federation of International Cricketers' Associations (FICA), includes nine individual prizes and also features the selection of the Test and ODI Teams of the Year.Also there will be an award for the side that has adhered most to the Spirit of Cricket. For the first time, this year's awards feature a new category, the People's Choice Award, which will be chosen by cricket fans around the world who will get a chance to vote for their favourite player online from a short-list of five cricketers selected by the ICC selection panel.The long-lists of nominations were made by a five-man ICC selection panel chaired by former West Indies captain and current chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee Clive Lloyd.

The panel also includes former international players Angus Fraser of England, Matthew Hayden of Australia, Ravi Shastri of India and Zimbabwe's Duncan Fletcher.The LG ICC Awards ceremony is now in its seventh year and this year it will be held in Bengaluru, India. Previous ceremonies were held in London (2004), Sydney (2005), Mumbai (2006), Johannesburg (2007 and 2009), Dubai (2008).

England has made a slow but steady start for chasing a low score of 128. If they score at a rate of around 6 rums per over without loosing any wicket for first ten overs they can easilt accelerate later and make it to the finals of the ICC Twenty twenty world cup 2010.

Super eight matches - ICC T20 Live Scores

Today was the first day of super eight league of T20 world cup anf England won the first match by defeating the defending champions Pakistan. In the seond match of the super eight league South Africa won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand. There are two changes in the South Africa teams and Gibbs is in replacing Bosman, and Botha replaces van der Merwe.

Other update from the Twenty Twenty world cup 2010:
Indian seamer Parveen Kumar is out of the T20 world cup 2010 due to injury. He got a side strain and will be replaced by Umesh Yadav from Vidarbha Cricket Association and also part of Delhi Deardevils IPL team. Yadav will leave fro West Indies tomorrow.

T20 world cup todays match live score

Match number 7 and 8 of the ICC T20 world cup will be played today. You can watch the live score of the both matches at ICC Cricket Live blog. in the match number one Sri Lanka playes against Zimbawe. For Sri Lanks its a must win match to move to the super league stage of the world cup and for Zimbawe its a match to rebuild the reputation they build in internationla cricket. there was atime when Zimbawe got some good key players but all of sudden some political crisis happened and top key players left the game. Hopefully Zimbawe will playe to there pride today.
In the secon match West Indies the host will play agianst England both the teams would like to start the tournament with a win. For host there will be an home ground advantage. Watch for the live action within next few houres.

Today is the day three of the ICC T20 World cup and two matches will be played. The match umber 5 and 6 of the twenty twenty cup tournament will be played among "India Vs South Africa" and "Pakistan Vs Australia".




Both India and Pakistan have won their first matches of the tournament, whereas Australia and South Africa will play the first match of the world cup T20. Both the two teams have still to prove that they are the best in this format of the cricket.

Well they started the first match as champions, Bangladesh looked no where impressive in the bowling except in the death overs. Pakistan has set a target of 173 runs to win for Bangladesh. Given such a huge score to chase Bangladesh mad a horror start by loosing first wicket at the score of one run. Noe let see how Bangladesh will chase the target.

Group C: India v South Africa at Gros Islet - India has won the first match and seems they are now eligible for the next round however if they won the tomorrows match it will give me the confidence that team India has the potential to win the T20 world cup once again.

Australia v Pakistan at Gros Islet - Pakistan will take on Australia in the sixth match of the tournament - Now here Australia need to win this match and make a solid start. Aussies are yet to prove there worth in this format of the game.

New Zealand and West Indies made a winning start to the tournament, for New zealand it was a heard fight whic they somehow managed to win in the end with one ball to spare. For West Indies it was a easy win hopefully this win will boost there hopes and home advantage is the next big thing for the carribean team.

Today the third match of the tournament will be played between the winners of the First T20 world cup in 2007 and the debutants Afghanistan. Afghanistan team will be playing to mark up there place in world of cricket and in case they manage to cause a setback it would be good for a country whic in already in trouble for various reasons.

I personaly wish Afghanistan makes it to next round of the tournament atleast, a new coutry needs such thing to boos cricket there. Wheather they win or not is a secondary thing Afghanistan team should play to give a real fight to the Indian team. Match should not be a single sided match.

New Zealand managed to restric Sri Lanka to a scre of 135, which is not a good total to defend as far as standards of T20 are concerned. Its few days ICC 20 - 20 world cup is about to begin and most teams are playing up warm up matches to get accustomed to pitch, weather and playing conditions here.

T20 world cup warm up matches - Pakistan got to winning start

Pakistan got its campaign at the ICC World Twenty20 off to a winning start with a comfortable 68-run win over a Windward Islands X1 on Tuesday.

Mohammad Hafeez starred in Pakistan's total of 160-7 off 20 overs with an entertaining knock of 57 off 40 balls.

In reply the Windward Islands X1 struggled to reach 92-4 off 20 overs in the face of a strong Pakistan attack, who still managed to concede 11 wides.

Mohammad Aamer was arguably the pick of the bowlers with 1-13 off four overs, although wickets were shared around the side.

India T20 Troubles - Verender Sehwag out of World Twenty20

Virender Sehwag has suffered a shoulder injury and is ruled out of the ICC T20 world cup. Sehwag has been replaced by Tamil Nadu batsman M Vijay adn in place of Sehwag now Gautam Gambhir will be the vice captain of the Indian twenty twenty team. same kind of injury ruled Sehwag from the T20 team last itme and Indi awas out of the tournament. India Vs Afghanistan Live - Twenty Twenty World Cup

India will play its first match of ICC T20 world cup on May 01, against a new team Afghanistan. Afghanistan recently qualified for the twenty twenty world cup and a good performance here may give the team the exposure and some chances for the other version of the games also.

Afghanistan cricket team will also face another match against one more tough opponent south Africa on May5.

Other team who qualified for T20 world cup is Ireland and they will play against England and West Indies.

Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium Inspection by ICC for world cup 2011

ICC is not happy with the facilites of the famous Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. Stadium is one of the venue for World Cup 2011 matches. The ICC pitch consultant Andy Atkinson has recommended couple of changes that need to be taken before world cup starts.

"Grass appeared lacking in nutrients and unanticipated amount of weeds present. It is noticeable that the playing surface needs renovation and repair to bring it up to the required condition. Overall, the condition of playing surface is disappointing." This is the few lines of noitce send to the Karnatak cricket borad.

Reportedly Ranji Trophy quarter-final and final were also played at some other destination dure to poor outfield here.

India Vs South Africa - Play starts after rain

Well it seemes like rain will help South Africa draw this game however play has started again with South Africa trailing by 232 runs and has 7 wickets in hand. India will need just another 2 wickets to get hold of the match and retain the number one position in ICC test rankings.

Latest news is that only one over was bowled and game has stopped again due to bad light.

India forced to Follow on by south Africa

India is on the way to loose its number one position and also and first test being played between India and South Africa. Follwing on and also trailing by more than 350 runs India still has to get some extra batting efforts and very god innings as they against Austraila. But unfortunately both batsmen that saved that match for India (Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman) are not in the team due to injuries.

Chances of such innings are very rares, given India has already lost 2 wickets and all hopes are now on Sachin Tendulkar and other new batsmen to build long partnership. Let see what happens, India will have to work very hards to save this test match India needs to bat 2 full days to save the test and so far they look unable to bat a single day.

South Africa won the toss and selected to bat first. Current score is South Africa 97/2 in 33.4 overs. Zaheer Khan got the initial break ups and picked up two wickets in the opening spell. For spineers pitch is making the ball turn and hope this will help India to restrict South africa somewhere beteween 300 to 370. India's battin line looks little weak with absence of Dravi and Laxman, lets see how other batsmen make use of this.
