Mumbai Indians scored first 200 plus score of IPL season 6

Yesterday match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils was the first match in IPL season 6  to see a score of 200+ runs in an innings. Mumbai Indian become the first team to scare 200+ runs in 20 overs in the Indian Premier League 2013. Delhi team made a good state of the the game yesterday when the opening over my Irfan Pathan was a maiden wicket. Irfan got the wicket of Ricky Ponting in the last ball of first over, without giving a singly run. Soon after three ball Sachin Tendulkar got run out by a direct hit from Jayawardene. Scoring rate was very low for next 2-3 overs and it seemed that the Mumbai Indians team will not be able to make a competitive score but then Karthik (Orange cap holder now) and Rohit Sharma batted beautifully with a100+ runs partnership and then later batsmen made some quick runs by power hitting. In the 20over Mumbai score 209 runs.

A target by 210 runs was always a huge task for the Delhi team who once again played without Sehwag. Once again team opener Chand got out to golden duck (2 golden ducks in 3 matches). Delhi managed 165 runs only and lost the match to a great margin. Now Delhi team has lost 3 matches from  the three they played. Now there life in IPL 6 would be very difficult and they need to win a couple of matches so that they don't end up in the bottom of the points table.

In the second match played between the Sunrisers and RCB, RCB won the match thanks to a superb captains knock by Kohli.

IPL Match today

Today only one match is scheduled to be played in IPL. The match will be played between Kings XI Punjab and the Chennai Super Kings at Mohali. The Chennai Super Kings have lost their first match to Mumbai Indians. Punjab on the other hand have won their first match against the Pune Warriors.

Mohali pitch is known for its bounce and chances are there that both team can play with extra fast bowler.  Just wait and watch how the game proceeds today 8 pm onwards. Catch all the action live from Mohali. Good luck to both the teams.

IPL updates: Matches, Players, Points & Live Scores

With more than one week past the IPL opening ceremony, the mega cricketing even or T20 extravaganza is now gaining momentum. So far Mumbai has maintained to being the top of the points table but I am sure next week will show lots of shuffling in the points table.

Kings XI punjab team has won only one of the 3 games they played but I think Azhar Mahmood who had previously played for Pakistan national cricket team and now is a British citizen will be joinign the Punjab team. He is cleared VISA and allowed to play in Punjab and delhi Matches. Adam Gilchrist the captian of Kings XI Punjab team said such a talented player joining the team will be helpful. Mahmood has been highest run scorer if the England domestic T20 competition.

In the match to be played today Pune Wariors will play against Chennai Super Kings, had it be last season most of us would have considered it as a one sided game and Chennai given the upper hand. However this year Pune is a different team and have won both the games they have played so far. Hopefully this IPL will bring some fame to the captain of Pune, Saurav Ganguly who has been in the media highlight for some wrong reasons. Just tune in to watch all the live action later in the day.
