India Tour of South Africa - Live Match Today

Today is the final match of the three day ODI series between India and South Africa. South Africa has already won the series by winning the first 2 matches convincingly. Poor batting in the seaming conditions has always been the weakness of Indian batsmen and it was once again showcased in the first two one day matches. When Indian team left for the tour it was in great confidence with 3 top scorers in ODI and some of the most attacking batsmen in the line up but when they played none of the batsmen was comfortable against the speed of the South African bowlers.

Today is the last match and both the team might want to win this last match as it will allow the team to go into a positive frame of mind for the upcoming test series. SA however can be more happier if they are able to manage a clean sweep again the number one ODI team.

For me it doesn't matter if Indian team win this match or not as it won;t make much difference, for me Indian team has already lost the test series as well. I'd be more than happy if team India is able to draw atleast one test match on this tour of South Africa.

Match has already began and South Africa has choose to bat first after winning the match. Two changes in the South African line up, they have rested Kallis and Dale Steyn.  India team recalled Yuvraj Singh in the team once again and Rihane has to sit our this time.

Cricket Matches Today - ODI cricket Match Update

Today two cricket matches are scheduled to be played. One Between Australia and Sri Lanka and then second one between India and England.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Match today: The match between Australia and Sri Lanka is being played right now at Melbourne. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. So far the Aussie team have a good start of the match and they are on the way to post a competitive total on the score board. The debutant batsmen Phillip Hughes  got a good start and is playing currently at 84, I predict he is all set to create a record for highest score on debut for Australia and in case he score more than 115 today, then he can set to records i.e. highest debut sore for Australia and highest debut score against Sri Lanka. Good luck for this young left handed batsmen. As you can see over the live score board widget above 31 overs have been bowled and Australia have scored 156 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.  Stay tune to this blog for more updates.

India Vs England Match Today: Match between India and England is scheduled to start at 12 noon IST, which is about one hour from now. Indian team has rested Virender Sehwag cause of poor form, they don't have any Tendulkar either. Cricket experts are calling for M S Dhoni to quit captaincy. They have lost test, ODI and T20 series recently at home. So its not predictable if declining team India can do some good performances in the ODI series or they are on the way to loose one more. We have to wait and watch for the three matches at least. However I pray that series must be live till the last ODI which in on the 27th Jan at Dharamshala, the lovely stadium with snow laid mountains in the background.

2013 first day of cricket on Jan 3

Cricketing worlds will start the new year on Jan 3, 2013 with two interesting matches being played on the day. Sri Lanka will play third and the final test against Australia on Jan 3 and on the same day Indian will face Pakistan in the second one day international (ODI)  match of the three match series.

Both India and Sri Lanka are behind in their respective series. Sri Lanka already lost the series and all they can do now is to keep the defeat margin to 2-1, 2-0. Ausralia on the other hand wil try to go by their reputation and win the series by clean sweep i.e. 3-0.

Now if we analyze the India Pakistan series, the Pakistan team is looking strong here and its 90% likely that Pakistan will win the series as they need to win only one of the remaining two matches. India can only hope for a dramatic change in the fortunes that can lead them to win the remaining two matches.

Still there is one day left for all the teams to make the strategies for the matches. I'd like to wish all the cricket fans in this world a very happy new year. Hopefully we will see more interesting matches in 2013 and I am expecting a handful of players declaring retirements from International cricket.
