Cricket Matches Today - ODI cricket Match Update

Today two cricket matches are scheduled to be played. One Between Australia and Sri Lanka and then second one between India and England.

Australia vs Sri Lanka Match today: The match between Australia and Sri Lanka is being played right now at Melbourne. Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. So far the Aussie team have a good start of the match and they are on the way to post a competitive total on the score board. The debutant batsmen Phillip Hughes  got a good start and is playing currently at 84, I predict he is all set to create a record for highest score on debut for Australia and in case he score more than 115 today, then he can set to records i.e. highest debut sore for Australia and highest debut score against Sri Lanka. Good luck for this young left handed batsmen. India Vs England Match Today: Match between India and England is scheduled to start at 12 noon IST, which is about one hour from now. Indian team has rested Virender Sehwag cause of poor form, they don't have any Tendulkar either. Cricket experts are calling for M S Dhoni to quit captaincy. They have lost test, ODI and T20 series recently at home. So its not predictable if declining team India can do some good performances in the ODI series or they are on the way to loose one more. We have to wait and watch for the three matches at least. However I pray that series must be live till the last ODI which in on the 27th Jan at Dharamshala, the lovely stadium with snow laid mountains in the background.

India look for Test Series Clean sweep against West Indies

India have won the test series against West Indies by wining the second test match and Eden gardens Kolkata. However for both the teams it is a right opportunity to improve the performance levels and go to test series with a positive frame of mind.

Specially West Indies need a draw or win in the third and the final test match that begins 22-Nov at Mumbai. We can hope to see a completely different West Indies team in the ODI series with players like K. Pollard joining the team. Yes I must mention that India will not play Yuvraj Singh in the final test match. Thus a setback for Yuvraj who wants to establish himself as a test cricketer. Perhaps he can focus on domestive test cricket for some time. He is a wonderful player for shorter version and theres no doubt about it.

For India I am not sure but a clean sweep can be little helpful for them to improve the test rankings. Still getting back the Numero Uno position is very far and difficult journey.

• South Africa Vs Australia: Match is going in interesting phase on day 4 with Australia picking 4 quick wickets and mark a comeback in the test match. Still South Africa lead by 264 runs and have 3 wickets in hand which means if they manage to take the lead for more than 300 runs match will be evenly balanced.
• Pakistan Vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka need to win the match number 4 of the series to stay alive in the series. Let wait and watch all the live action from few hours from now.
  

Series Live Scores - India Vs England First ODI

After defeating India at their home page now its England turns to prove that they can do the same in India as well. However England was defeated 5-o in the previous series against India in India. But a positive point for England is that Indian team is still depleted one due to the injuries and fitness issues.

For India Gautam Gambhir makes a come back to the side thus opening issues seems to be resolves to some extent. Indian team also have the opportunity to enhance the ICC ODI rankings if they beat England in the series. Current world champions are at number 4 in the rankings and just one point behind 3rd ranked England team.

England has to win this series and the test series in India to prove that they really belong to the number one position. A defeat here means there is still a long way to go for England to be called the world champion in tests and ODIs.

India Vs England Second ODI Match

For the first time since team India landed in England it looked like they gave a team performance and team India was in a strong position in the match at the time rain abandoned the match resulting both teams will head to the second one day international match 0-0.

Debutant Rehane played a nice knock of 40 runs and this guy may be part of the dressing room for a long time. Parthiv Patel may not be a regular members of the Indian cricket team now a days but if you look at his performance in the last couple of series in which he has played around 11 matches this once wicket keeper batsmen for team India has played 4 50+ inning and a couple of 30 and 40+ innings all in the opening slot. Perhaps he is a good alternate in case M. S. Dhoni got injured or ruled out of the team due to poor performances. Also it was a sad to see this batsmen falling 5 runs short of his maiden century, perhaps there is a more better time for it to come.

Injuries are consistent for India and now Sachin Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma got injured and its not sure if any of them will feature in the second ODI tomorrow.

Today cricket lovers can enjoy three matches on the weekend i.e.

1. Australia Vs Sri Lanka Test Match Day 4 - Australia is just 1 wicket away to win the first test match of the series. Whereas Sri Lanka need 130 runs. Thus all Sri Lanka can hope for a century of .... nothing Its a matter of one ball while I was updating the blog. Australia has won the match by 129 runs.
   
   
2. Pakistan Vs Zimbawe Test Match Day 3 - This is the only test match to be played between two teams and Zimbawe is once again on the track to improve their cricket. They scored 412 runs in first innings. However Pakistan batsmen are quick in scoring runs and scoring runs quickly. So far result for this match seems to be impossible untill we see some magical spell by Zimbabwe bowlers. Even a drwa would be satisfactory for Zimbabwe.
   
   
3. India Vs England Frist ODI - India lost test series 4-0, they also lost only Twenty twenty match and now they have to play the five match one day series. If India get defeated here then this means the bad phase on Indian cricket has begun. But as India are the world champions one can expect them to win this series, one must not forget they were number one test team in the world before the our of England.
