Boxing Day Test Series – Test Match 2

India will play second test match of the 4 match Gavaskar Border test series (also called Boxing Day test series) tomorrow at SCG (Sydney cricket ground). According the curators the pitch conditions will be beneficial to both the teams. Its means, we can expect both Indian spinners and Australian speed bowlers to pick up wickets.

Historically this ground has been lucky or team India and they have won a couple of matches here. This is the same venue where Harbhajan Singh and Andrew Aymonds have some firing moments at the ground and allegation of racial comments etc after that. Coincidently both the players are not playing in this series. Among Indian batsmen VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar have shown excellent batting record here. Sachin has even scored a double hundred here.

Now let’s discuss something about the most awaited century. If Sachin Tendulkar scores a test hundred in this match it would be a golden not because it is the 100^th test century by the little master but also because it will be scored in the 100^th test match played at the Sydney cricket ground.

Australia looks like a team that has a slight upper hand on the first test match of the Boxing Day (Border - Gavaskar) test series between Australia and India. From the first day till the end of day 3, match has been going from one team to another. And what a wonderful test match you can see other than this one, moment one team starts looking taking the grasp on the match other team pulls it off.


Now at stumps day 3 Australia has taken a healthy lead of 230. Michael Hussey is still batting and it’d be interesting to see how much lead he can provide to the Aussie team with 2 wickets still remaining.
