Kings XI Punjab got new assistant coach this IPL

The Kings XI team has been unlucky in the history of IPL so far. Lot was expected from this team in the IPL but so far they have not got any significant success in the tournament. They've tried change of captains, change of players but nothing seemed to be going in the positive directions so far.

In the current IPL 2013 the team management has hired a new assistant coach for the team.  Name of the new assistant coach is W V Raman, who will be the deputy to the foreign coach Darren Lehmann. The 47 years old Raman has represented India and Tamil Nadu during his playing days and has played in both tests & ODIs for India where he opened batting for India.

Raman has plenty of coaching experience behind him as well. He has been coaching domestic team like Tamil Nadu and Bengal from some time. This would be first IPL assignment for Raman and we at ICC Cricket Blog wishes both the assistant coach and his team all the best for this season. I am hopeful this will bring some change of fortunes for the Kings Eleven team.

IPL is a funny T20 league, last year you might be playing against each other and  this year you might be playing together. Apart from that you might be the coach, captain of the team. Players are retained in the team, exchanged with other members of the team and sometimes let go away. IPL is not about big names always sometimes unknown faces makes it big in IPL.

Brett Lee to replace Akram as bowling coach for KKR

Since the legendary pace bowler Wasim Akram has decided to take a break from his responsibilities as a bowliing consultant of Kolkata Knight Riders team, the Australian fast bowler Brett has been selected by the KKR team management to take up the role. Brett Lee now will play the dual role in the Knight Riders team one as a player, leading the pace attack and second as the bowling coach.

Team management decide to opt out of looking for some from outside as they thought Brett Lee with his vast experience in international cricket is the best fit for the mentors job for this session of IPL.

IPL begins April 3 and Kolkata team will face Delhi DearDevils in the match. I am quiet excited top see how Brett Lee will perform and what impact he will have on the team as a mentor.

IPL 2013 tournament match schedule - Important Match Dates

Good news to all the lovers of T20 cricket and the crickets fans all over the globe, specially the Indians. Once again the biggest T20 league called IPL is going to start and once again we'll get to see international and domestic players playing together for various IPL team across different locations in India.  There is less than one month left for the IPL 2013 to begin. The inaugural match of the IPL this year will be played between the defending champions KKR and the Delhi Deardevils team on April,3 2013 and Kolkata. Final match of the IPL will be played of 26th May 2013 at Kolkata.
