Top team to fight today in IPL

Today is one of the most exciting day in IPL. Whats the reason for excitement? There are two matches being played today and the best thing is that 3 out of the 4 teams playing today are already in the top of IPL points table. Are you excite now? Yes so am I and I look forward to both the matches in IPL today i.e. :

1. RR vs RCB
3. KKR vs KingsXI

Kings XI Punjab, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders are already in the positions 1,3, and 4 respectively as of now. All the teams are in good form especially the Punjab team which is still unbeaten in the tournament.

If we talk about the first match then RCB looks strong against the Rajasthan Royals team. But given the defeat they got in last match, RCB are also in a pressure situation to get back to the winning momentum.

The second match between the Knight Riders and Kings is going to be a tough contest as this would be first time the Kings will face a really strong bowling attach that includes Sunil Naraine who has an economy of less that 6 runs an over.

IPL 7 points table - Team points tally in IPL 2014

Here is the updated point table for IPL 2014.  As you must be aware of the IPL schedule each team will play around 14 group stage matches and the the top 4 team from the point table below will qualify for the play offs There is no change in the play offs, the top 2 team will play the first play off match and the winner will qualify for the finals. Whereas the losing team will play against the winner of play off second i.e. teams ranked 3,4 in points table for another chance to qualify for the finals.

Who will stop Kings XI Punjab in IPL7

Kings Xi team so far has no so exciting outings in IPL history but they have made a very solid start in IPL this year. They have won all the first three matches they played so far  by chasing 200+ against CSK, 190+ against Rajasthan Royals and then defeating Sunrisers Hyderadbad easily yesterday.

Everyone is talking about how solid batting line Punjab have got and who will stop the Kings Xi team this year. The answer is simple anyone who can stop the big hitter and holder of the orange cap Glenn Maxwell can win the game against Kings XI easily. Thus other teams who will play Kings XI in the remaining part of the tournament need to do the home work on how to handle the brutal attack of Maxwell. Apart from Maxwell, David Miller is another threat for the teams. Punjab team on the other hand need to improve the opening attach so that there isn't much competition for the middle order. The other area of concern for Punjab is a weak balling attack, they certainly need to improve this area.

The next match Kins XI team will play is again a solid Kolkata Knight Riders, the batting of KKR is not so nice but they have got a lethal balling attack. KKR and RCB are the two teams I expect to defeat the Kings XI team. Bit given the form of the Maxwell and Miller it seems like this year Kings XI team could have the longest unbeaten streak in the history of IPL and also lift the title.

IPL Match Chennai Super Kings v Kings XI Punjab

I hope you enjoyed the first two matches of IPL season 7. The first match between KKR and Mumbai Indians marked the opening of the IPL 2014 on 16th followed by another exciting IPL Match at Sharjah on 17th.

IPL match today is important specially for the Kings XI Punjab and the explosive batsmen Virendar Sehwag. A good start to the tournament can not only help Kings XI team to race to the knock our for the first time but also help Sehwag mark a comeback to the Indian team and hopefully play the 2015 ICC world cup.

The opponents Chennai Supper Kings are the most successful team of IPL having been played the IPL finals for maximum numbers and also Super Kings are the only team to win the title more than once. Kings XI on the other hand don't had a nice journey of IPL so far in six season, hopefully seventh season may prove lucky for the team.

Best past of Kings XI is that they have got players from the defending champions Mumbai this time, Mitchell Johnson and Glenn Maxwell. Both these players can make a solid contribution to the success of the team.

Chennai on the other hand have issues like match fixing etc however they have the captain cool who is not only the most successful captain of IPL but one of the most successful captains of Indian cricket team. 

IPL Match at Sharjah Today Live Score

The first match of IPL7 was played yesterday at Abu Dhabi between KKR and Mumbai Indians. The second match of the tournament will be played today at Sharjah cricket ground, that previously have help lots of highly popular international cricket matches. Match starts at 6:30 pm local time and participating teams are Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore. For Delhi team IPL has not been a happy story so far and they have mostly remain in the bottom of the IPL points table in previous seasons. RCB on the other hand despite being the most star studded team has been unable to win IPL so far, though they appeared in the final once in IPL2 but got defeated by Deccan Chargers team.

DD vs RCB is gonna be an interesting match and hopefully it'd attract huge crowd today in the evening for the match. RCB team are the favorites here but I expect a good fight from Daredevisl as well. In T20 no team is weak and anything could happen in the course of 20 overs of an inning.

Kings Eleven Punjab Team Overview - Kings XI Team Punjab

Kings XI as all the Indian cricket fans or fans of IPL must know is an IPL team owned by KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited. PCA stadium Mohali is the home ground  for the Kings XI team but they play few of the home matches at the beautiful and picturesque HPCA stadium located at Dharamshala, Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Unfortunately there are no matches to be played in Dharamshala this year.

Kings XI team were the semi finalists in the first season of IPL in 2008 and that was the best ever performance of the team so far in IPL. Nest year they didn't qualified to the knockouts and in the IPL3 they finished at the bottom of points table.  Since then team is trying hard but failed to make it to the knock out stages.

This year in IPL7 team looks fresh, solid and right balance of fast bowlers and hard hitting batsmen. However the team has a few specialist spinners and that might be an issue since there are very few games to be played at the fast Mohali pitch.

IPL 7, Match 1 - KKR vs Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians the defending Champions of the IPL and KKR who were the winner in IPL 2012  will play the opening match for the season 7 of IPL. The first match of IPL7 will be played on 16th April - 2014 and this is going to be an exciting match. Both the teams has been in good form for last 2-3 seasons. The best thign of IPL7 is that there would be very less home advantage this time for most of the teams as significant number of games are being played at UAE a neutral venue for all.

Also back home  in India there might be some new venues as Rajasthan Royal will play all matches all matches (home) at Ahemdabad in place of Jaipur. Chennai Super Kings also play matches at seocnd home Ranchi in place of Kochi. However the Kins XI Punjab team will have to miss the second home Dharamshala and play matches at Mohali and other venues.

Coming back to the opening match between Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians, the good news for Mumbai team is that the explosive all rounder Pollard has already hit form making a comeback after injury that kept him our of action for around 6 months. The venue Abu Dhabi  would be new to most of the players from both the teams.  The captain of KKR, Gautam Gambhir might want to display good show as this IPL could be his best chance to offer his candidacy for the 2015 ICC cricket world cup. Lets wait for the IPL to start first as wold cup is still a couple of months to go.

IPL 2014 Opening Ceremony - No Break - After T20 World Cup Enjoy IPL Now

We enjoyed the T20 cricket in the ICC T20 world cup 2014 and before the hangover was over its time to switch to the most popular T20 cricket league called the IPL. This is no doubt the most popular form of cricket that drives fans crazy. This year IPL is played in two phases, one in UAE and one in India.

Elections for Lok Sabha in India during April & May is the reason to host a part of IPL in UAE (South Africa and Bangladesh were also preferred choices but UAE was the lucky destination). The seventh season of IPL or we can say IPL-7 will also be little bit different this time and there won't be extravagant opening ceremony like the previous seasons of the league.  This year it'd be  a gala dinner only on April 15th. The dinner is hosted by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan son of Sheikh of Abu Dhabi. Dinner would be hosted at Emirates Palace to be attended by various celebrities from Bollywood and VIP guests.  But the extravagant opening ceremonies are not what fans like in IPL, its cricket, the sixes, the wickets and the excitement in each and every delivery that drives the cricket fans crazy. I personaly have never watched any IPL opening ceremony so far but I've never missed any opening and closing match. In between the opening and final match of IPL I've watched the games of team I've supported always the Mumbai Indians. But since this time Sachin Tendualkar in not playing for Mumbai I'd be supporting my home team the Kings XI Punjab this time, hopefully they'll have a good season this time.

ICC World T20 Semi Final Match Today

Indian will play against South African in the second semi final match of ICC T20 World cup tournament. The Indian cricket team has relied heavily on the spin balling attack and has remained unbeaten in all the 4 matches played in the tournament so far. However knock out stage is a different ball game.

South Africa cricket team has never won any T20 world cup and this might be a golden chance for them. South Africa has a very lethal balling attack and it could hamper the Indian solid batting line on any day. The result from the yesterday match are sufficient to support my statement, everyone was expecting the defending champion West Indies to win the match against Sri Lanka but they are our of the tournament now. Same thing can happen to team India today.

For team India it could be difficult to choose between Dhawan and Rahane for the opening slot. Might be captain Dhoni could surprise everyone with some changes in the pace attack or in the batting order. This captain cool is highly unpredictable at the knock out stages with his strategies.

ICC World T20 World Cup Live Match Score Today

Lasith Malinga of Sri Lanka lead the team in a virtual quarter final match against New Zealand and once again Malinga is given the chance to lead the team in the semi-final match against West Indies today. Both the teams previously met in the final of last T20 world cup in the year 2012 and Sri Lanks lost that match to the West Indies team. This is a perfect time when the Sri Lankan team could take the revenge and feature in back to back finals of the T20 world cup.
