Aisa Cup 2014 Cricket Matches in Bangladesh

Asia cup which features cricket teams from Asia compete against each other to win the title. In the past the series included India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka only with Bangladesh joining the Asian squar in some recent years. This time another shining team Afghanistan will participate in this tournament for the first time.

This could a great learning for the inexperienced Afghanistan team participating with 4 test playing nations that include three past ICC cricket world cup winner. Since Afghanistan team is also qualified for the ICC world T20 and the 2015 ICC world cup, so this could be a great exposure to the team.

Asia Cup 2014 Opening Match Results:
The opening match was played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which was a close encounter won by Sri Lanka due to some magic reverse swing bowling from Lasith Malinga. He took 5 wickets in his last spell taking the match away from the Pakistan.

Asia Cup Match Today:
Today match in Asian cup is between Bangladesh and India. Both the teams look great in the sub-Continent playing conditions. Last time it was defeat from Bangladesh that showed the exit way to team India from the Asia cup and this time the chances for an upset from Bangladesh are more, given the fact that Indian cricket team got a new captain and a new inexperienced middle order.

Match will begin around 4 hours from now and you can keep an eye on the live scoreboard widget the this blog.

Asia Cup opening Match India vs Sri Lanka

Both teams played a couple of matches against each other few days back in the foreign land and pitches that they are not comfortable playing. Now they will play against each other in home like conditions in the opening match of the Asia cup 2012. Asia cup features Pakistan and Bangladesh and two other teams and is hosted by Bangladesh. Though Indian cricket team is the defending champion of the Asia cup, teams performance post the world cup has been on a decline and it'd be interesting to see if Indians can prove again why they are world champions.

Indian team has recalled couple of big hitters like Yusuf Pathan in the team and also since Bangladesh pitches are like heaven for Batsmen so called great bating line up of India can post and chase some good scores. If we look at the bowling side India once again looks week as compared to Sri Lank or Pakistan. Let see in next one hour to see how match will begin, progress and ends. Till then its time for me to say a short good bye.
