New Zealand Vs Pakistan Match Live Coverage

Tomorrow is another important match specially for New Zealand team. They definitely need to win this match so as to make it to the next round comfortably. Pakistan on the other hands looks comfortable for the next round but I doubt the team will have to win thins match so as to boos the confidence and also make an impact that is not a AFRIDI only team.

For those who have watched today's match and saw Canada defeating Kenya, one question must have raised in the mind - Will any of the associate team make it to the next round of the ICC world cup 2011. Well I really want one associate team from both the groups to proceed to the quarter finals but chances of this looks very rare. Let see how the tournament progresses.

Bopara - Trott partnership builds innings after 3 early wickets

Winning the toss was the only good thing that happened to England for the first 10 overs of the game. England won the toss and elected to bat first, but they have a horrble start to the innings and lost 3 quick wickets. Ravi Bopara and Joanthan Trott now building the innings and a good partnership is going among them. Lets hope they build a health partnership that can enable England to post a competitive target for in-form South African team.

RJ Peterson the spinn bowler for South Africa caused all the damage to the England team he picked all the three wicket by giving only 4 runs in his first spell of 4 overs. Also its now less than 3.5 hours left for the most waited match between India and Ireland to begin. Just wait for the updates to be posted here at http://icccricket.blogspot.com/

Match 11 ICC World Cup - India vs England

Another Sunday encounter for team 11, this match will definitely be one turning highest crowd in the group stage matches. India will take on England in the group stage on 27th Feb in a day night match. Match will begin at 2:00 pm local time (+5:30 GMT).

No matter England has won the Ashes test series but for me England is a team capable of performing against Australia and Ashes only. In one day format team lacks the discipline in both batting and bowling. Specially when you check bowling in the sub-continent team definitely require someone in the spin bowling capable to turning matches. India team on the other hand have already 3 regular spin bowlers in the 15 members squad and they have other part times like Yuvraj, Raina, Sehwag etc who can bowl couple of good overs and hence India team can have the option of playing one extra batsmen if needed.

In this match Indian team definitely looks strong and capable of winning the match. Let the match begin and catch all the live action.

World Cup Veneus and Stadiums

All of you must be aware that Kolkataa Eden Gardens stadium didn't get the ICC approval and the stadium works were still pending. Most probably the India Vs England match that was previously supposed to be played at Eden Gardesn on Feb 27will now be played at some alternate venue that will be decided by BCCI by Monday 31st January . Good news is that all other venues are given green signal after inspection from ICC officials and below is the list of venues and stadiums that will hold the world cup matches:

  • Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi - No Kumble in Indian squad this time yes this is the Place where Kumble took 10 wickets in a test match single innings.
  • Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai - Already hosted one world cup final.
  • M. A. Chidambaram stadium, Chennai - rebuilt for the World Cup. No Saedd Anwar this time. His record 194 was scored here against India.
  • Eden Gardens (Kolkata, India) Capacity: 80,000 Biggest ground in India and enjoys a status akin to the Lord's. Famous for its passionate and vocal crowd and has previously hosted World Cup matches in 1987 and 1996. Of late, spinners like Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble inspired famous victories against Australia and Pakistan.
  • Feroz Shah Kotla (New Delhi, India) Capacity: 48,000 India leg-spinner Anil Kumble famously took his 10 Test wickets in an innings on this ground in 1999 against Pakistan.
  • Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai, India) Capacity: 45,000 Host of the final on April 2, the entire stadium was torn down and rebuilt from scratch. Proximity of the ground to the sea allows swing bowlers a fair amount of assistance early on.
  • M. A. Chidambaram stadium (Chennai, India) Capacity: 50,000 The historic ground, better known as the Chepauk, has been rebuilt for the World Cup. Pakistan's Saeed Anwar scored 194 against India in an Independence Cup match in 1997 at this venue.
  • Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali - This is nearer to me and I haven't watched any world cup match here hopefull will get to watch semi-final here if India manage to reach the semi finals.
  • Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur - This venuw has the histoty of having high soring matches.
  • Sardar Patel Stadium, Ahemdabad - Fully renovated one with state of the art technology
  • Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore - hosted World Cup matches in 1987 and 1996 including the fiercely-fought quarterfinal between India and Pakistan in March, 1996.
  • Premadasa Stadium, Sri Laka - Seven matches including one semi final for this only stadium in Sri Lanka with floodlights.
  • Pallekele Cricket Stadium , Sri Laka - New stadium built for world cup only.
  • Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sri Lanka - this is is also new one build by Sri Lanka board for world cup
  • Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Bangladesh - Held under 19 world cup matches in the past.
  • Sher-E-Bangla Cricket Stadium , Bangladesh -two quarter finals to be played here in a total of six matches.

World Cup Live Score – Match 8 & 9 - Australia v New Zealand, Bangladesh v Ireland

World Cup Live Score – Match 8 & 9 - Australia v New Zealand, Bangladesh v Ireland

25-Feb-2011 – Two matches will be played today one at 9:30 a.m I.S.T between Australia and New Zealand and the second one will be a day night match starting at 2:30 p.m IST. You can catch all the live action of both world cup matches here at ICC Cricket Blog.

Match between Australia and New Zealand is going to be an exciting match, although New Zealand team lost to Bangladesh and India in the series played in Bangladesh and New Zealand respectively. I still think they must have done the required refinements in the team and there world cup strategies. Australia too is not having a good series against England. They lost the ashes and now in one day series they lost the recent game. However it is totally a different scenario when you are playing a world cup tournament. Hence I see this match as a closer one in the world cup matches of group A. Watch the live score of the match here, enjoy the game.
Second match today between Bangladesh and Ireland can be virtually a knock out one and I see winner from this match will have 60% chances of making it to the next round of the world cup. Bangladesh has here a little edge over Ireland because of home conditions and experienced team.

Match 4 - Australia vs Zimbabwe -Ahemdabad

Fourth match of the ICC cricket world cup will be a group A match played between
Australia v Zimbabwe at Ahmedabad. Given the fact that Australia has won the world cup maximum number of times and Zimbabwe is a troubled nation team, this match is also going to be a one sided match. Now till now we have seen that all the 3 previous matches also seem to be one sided affairs. Her is the pre-match review of the first three matches of the 2011 world cup:

Perhaps this is the trend of all worl cup tournaments be it hockey, cricket, soccer or any other game. Games get exciting as the competition goes by. My best wishes to the zimbabwe team this nation definitely needs a world cup win fo rthe game to survie and grow in the nation. I really wnat them not to exit in the first phase of the tournament.
